Awesome!

So-- when will we be able to go back to the character selection screen from in-game? ;)

this!

No. We would love to be able to do that, but that is not at all a "character selection screen" issue.
Once a connection has been made, both the server code and client code make a lot of assumptions that the characterID will not change, and it's very far from trivial to change that (otherwise we probably would have done that a long time ago)

Although the odd thing is long ago, you could do this in the client....

1) You would garner great kudos with all manner of players if you could exit one of your characters to enter another character from ANYWHERE in the game, at any time, without having to return to the game launcher screen.

2) You would receive unending fan mail, if you allowed multiple account holders to select ANY of their characters held on the SAME E-MAIL ADDRESS from any point in the game.

3) You would be loved endlessly, if a player had paid for three months ahead, could apply sequential training to the paid characters for the 'paid-for' period and not be limited to 24 hours.

And finally:
4) The only real consistent artefact in EvE-Online, is our skill point collection, everything else is transitory, so why, after paying for the training time with one character, if I need to delete that character because the name is wrong or I am finding myself on the wrong training path, why oh why, when I delete the character, don't I get BACK the training skill points I spent on said character, after all, I did PAY for them and they are the only consistent thing in the game. To get the paid-for skill points refunded for onward transfer to another paid for character of my choosing would make eve-online so much better, believe me.

And, when you make changes in the game, that can for a player, invalidate the reasons they trained their characters, and are now redundant, why cannot the player receive a refund for the training skills they trained for, that now have no reason to be there. You did in that past refund Sp when you removed a lot of training books and steps, so I know it is very possible.

I am sorry CCP, but your reasons for NOT returning to the character selection screen from in-game, sounds like armpits, everyone has them and they all stink.

I love everything you did with the client screen. Red is my favorite color! (in RL)

Very, very well done.

I think you guys have squashed the memory leaks - time to enable the insta-switch character function!

Love the larger portrait of the characters. Like the new non-busy and clean interface. Good job. Blink

Question related to the changes in redeeming:
are the expiry dates on certain items gone? if not, how they are displayed ?

Well, I like the new Character selection screen!

I especially like the info top left corner, remaining sub time!!! I suggested this feature in a petition pne of my alts wrote and was heartily surprised when I received a friendly answer that CCP was looking to implement it.

Although I read that some people dislike the new screen because it only displays the current skill and not the end of the skill queue anymore, I disagree with those critics. EVEMon is a tool that everybody I know who plays EVE is using. So, no problem there!

As suggested in this thread, a link to the EVE news channels via ingame browser or neocom or F12 would be nice to have. I usually log in without thoroughly reading the headlines, so I regularly have to go bakc to the launcher to re-read/follow the interesting links...

Overall, nicely done with lots of additional info, benefits and comfort. Well done CCP!
