At around 17:01 today someone made a character named Plex for good that currently resides in the NPC corp. Thought it was against EULA to misrepresent?

Well, people who wish to donate should look up the appropriate information. People will be people on the Internet, and you should always be careful when transferring / setting up contracts.

this is why i donated money straight to red cross, and not thro eve itself for people trying to get free plexes, useing a disaster to get rich, is very shameful. and i hope they read this and let the guilt sink in.

Petition IT, CCP does NOT allow any form of scam involving PLEX for Good. They mentioned that anyone who attempts to do so will be punished harsly.

Scammers gonna scam.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

As the devblog itself mentions, scamming around PLEX for GOOD is not allowed. If someone comes across a character doing this in the future please file a ticket with the name of the character in question and it will be dealt with. Thanks. Big smile

In this case, scammers gonna get all their accounts permabanned Big smile

Scamming in eve is one thing. Scamming a real life charity out of real money donations that are just being processed via the game is another thing entirely, both morally and according to CCP's rules.

There are two types of EVE player:

those who believe there are two types of EVE player and those who do not.

CCP: "Scamming is legal, unless you are going to scam us. In that case, you get banned."

I'm pretty sure I've seen a few threads advocating a similar idea. Too bad that CCP is the only one who can actually pull this off.

DEVIL'S ADVOCATE !!

Just because somebody has this name,
doesn't necessarily mean he'll scam !

He could as well have good intentions and just use the name to advertise it !

Considering how much of charity money actually ends up with those in need, it´s probably more of a scam-the-scammers scenario.
But hey, those bills aren´t going pay themselves even when you are on a mission to save humanity...

You know that trope is a bit dated now, right? and you can for many charities, track the money they get, and where it ends up?

Mmmm... cinnamon rolls....

Where do I petition Cinnabon to change their name to Somerbon?

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

We also have this, Foreign Aid Transparency Hub.

...and coming from the Philippines myself, I regret the use of our countryname and the Haiyan disaster for metagaming.

My father is a professor at our state university, and some of the students were from the afflicted areas. He tells me that some are now suicidal having learnt that their whole family is dead.

I'd like to suggest all of the threads about the donations (and whatnot) be merged into one thread, please.

Edit: Hoping to see Iceland listed in the FAiTH link :)

Scamming CCP and scamming victims of a disaster are worlds apart.

While Incarna was a disaster, CCP were not the victims.
