Another question: Do the PLEX collected from all of us get permanently removed from the game, or do they get added to the Bank of Eve's stock to be used for market stabilization?

As always we here at Eve Radio are fully behind this and are supporting this. We are starting a collection of isk/plex's etc etc now and by the end of the collecting period we will take everything we get in and make it all in to plex's to send to CCP

Does anyone know if these are designated donations (ie the charity must spend the money on disaster relief in the Philippines), general donations to the Philippines campaign (can be spent on adverts soliciting more donations for the Philippines, admin overheads etc) or just indiscriminate donations to the Icelandic Red Cross? This matters.

Not disagreeing with charity and PLEX for good is a fantastic concept, it's just there is a little more to charity than giving away a load of money and while I'm sure CCP have done their homework and that the money is going where they say it's going (Philippines relief) I'd like some confirmation.

It'd be great if we could get some details about the nature of the donation being made to which campaign and what kind of aid the Icelandic Red Cross is providing (some charities focus on clean water, shelter etc, others on rebuilding, others on medical supplies etc).

This is going specifically to the Icelandic Red Cross fund for Philippines relief.

There's a lot of legality surrounding a charitable drive like this that has to be taken into account, which is why it took a little more time than usual to get the ball rolling and open up for donations (I've been buried in talks and shenanigans with the amazing CCP legal team - who deserve massive hugs from everyone at next Fanfest - since Monday morning to make sure that this is all done properly).

Part of that deal is that we (CCP hf.) are a business, and as such we have to present the charity with a legal contract that specifies the nature of our donation drive, and to what cause we're donating the funds. They have to agree with this, and when we sign it we're both then legally bound in a contract that specifies where the money goes.

The result is that we now have a very robust framework in terms of both legal documentation that we can adapt to approach any charity we would like to assist with PLEX for GOOD in future, and solid community procedures for future PLEX for GOOD initiatives that we can use to respond a lot faster to this kind of situation whenever we deem it appropriate.

Part of this procedure is that we'll give a summary of the PLEX for GOOD drive once it's been completed that outlines how much we raised and where it was donated.
