CCP WhiteNoiseTrash:

Here's a video I took yesterday in EVE. You can clearly hear the MWD sound of interceptors several hundred KM away, and it's louder than anything else in the game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QNP13bYBqXQ

Enjoying the rain today? ;)

Yea.
it's mentioned just above your comment, that it's buggy.

4. The audio of the boosters themselves, have been changed to be louder when being behind the ship, but almost totally quiet when in front of it.

just make sure its not too silent from the front. You want to hear ships MWDing towards you. Before rubicon you could clearly hear if someone close to you (<100km) activated the mwd to start the charge. I really liked that ;)

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

Sound in combat is fuzz and stutter - get a crashing echo/static sort of thing.

As a result the game lags with the audio enabled, but is fine with audio disabled. Everything else sounds fine and is uber smooth when not in combat.

Got exactly the same problem. When in combat, the sound is all choppy, also Aura talks in slow motion/stutters. Never had this issue before and I also recognise the lag that has suddenly appeared.

we never had this issue before.
it's mentioned in several bug reports.

and this is odd, because we actually cleared out some CPU and memory issues for Rubicon.

I'm not sure if you're still here but I have a bug or something to report;
Wormholes are missing their audio(ambience and when entering them), I hear a new one when someone gets in but the old one was fine too.

Got it. Neither are missing, they are just very low, because of bug with the volume.

hello whitenoise like pertuabo i 've a major issue with the new sound settings for WH .Until Rubicon hit us many wormholers used to spy invaders by putting a cov ops at proximity of the hole when multiboxing and they couldnt miss an incoming sound when doing others activities.
Now with the rebalance there is too much parasites sounds coming from planets and sun and we can't hear it as clearly as before.
As a matter of fact it killed any intelligence activities, as u have to sit on the hole to get intel on incoming ...pretty annoying :(
Is it intented ? and do we have hope to see the volume of incoming raised again or maybe an enhanced WH sounds like it exist for turrets ?
Glad to hear u about this

ok, once again. read some previous posts. it's been explained.
There is a bug with the volume of the wh's, both the ambiance and the actual jumping.

It has been fixed and will go in with one of the patches, ,most likely friday.
the reason why you think all the sounds of planets, suns and all are making it difficult to hear, is simply because the sound of the wh's is lowered by mistake.

I parked next to a star yesterday and could barely hear it at all. I'm not sure if I heard it or just space noise... This was in High-Sec, I don't know if it was the one star that didn't have noise or not. I haven't check any others.

Has this been addressed internally at all?

Saw the stealth notice in the patch notes that the suns are getting sounds, individualized by star class. Very interesting - cool sound in and of itself but checking out the different classes was interesting.

Bug (presumably): O1 Blue stars were silent as of 05:00 11/16.

Checked most others. Did not check A0 Blue, might be worth a spot check.

I can also confirm that a number of stars are missing sound effects.

ok, just a quick response here.
I'm out of the office today and tomorrow.

I have put in some temporary solutions for the wormhole and the MWD "thing" - so it should be bearably from now.
I will, as soon as I get back to Iceland on monday, make a more permanent solution, and make sure that the wormhole ambiance will work as before. (as I just realized a dependency in some of the stuff I used for the temp fix)

To our knowledge, it's only one of the blue ones, which is missing.
but that should have been fixed and in the patch tomorrow.

if NOT, then let me know here - I'll try and fix it for monday / tuesdays final patches.

Yeah, I should have clarified. It's only blue stars that I've noticed the absence of sound effects.

I think it's only one of them, I'm pretty sure.
It should be in for the patch coming tomorrow (friday) I won't be in to check if it goes fine, so any kind of feedback is greatly appreciated.

I read thru the thread, (I see it is feedback on the test server),.. can I report here re: sound on TQ?

I patched-in Rubicon tonight, (no launcher problem for me); launched fine, but:

Never had a problem, at all, with EVE...

Admittedly, I don't think I have the best system, but I ----------> this Noob ---------> is working on getting a better rig.

I really like most of the sound in EVE, and it's a pity to me to have to go deafo blappin.

(Hope I'm in the right place to post.)

That's an unknown issue to me.
but we have a bug reported at the moment, about memory stacking on some systems. it could be that. but we haven't been able to reproduce the bug on the sound side of it here.

Hey there sound dude!

FYI

The last patch (Friday? is it Friday still? gah!) anyway, the last patch fixed all my sound problems, and I'm noticing all the cool sound-scape stuff now, too - very noice, and it's all good!!

Thanks for all that, makes a great touch hey :)

GOOD! It's still friday.
actually, you can check here: http://erdetfredag.dk
very useful site. ;)

Still, if you find something, let me know - we still have a chance to patch minor things before tuesday. The WH and the MWD are all temp solutions, if they work, then it's actually fine, but this solution will for sure give me long hair some day as it creates a lot of dependencies.

Still too obnoxiously loud, and all the cutesy little unnecessary sounds are drowning out the necessary sounds. Please nerf.

Edit: ALSO, like the old salvager sound bug, there is an "electronic" sound I think related to jumping stargates that doesn't shut off once activated until you turn the audio off and on again.

There's nothing worse than an EVE player, generally considered to be top of the food chain in the MMO world, that cannot smacktalk with wit and coherency.
