While running Rubicon on my late 2011 Macbook Air, I'm able to start the launcher, log-in, select the character that I want to play as and then the game hangs. The music continues to play, but the screen is black and I'm unable to get back to Finder to kill the process.

I have to power off the computer to recover.
Doesn't it even respond to Force Quit (⌥⌘ ESC)? That usually kills the process right quick for me.

That looks an awful lot like a memory corruption or loading issue. I've had that problem on my rotten old bootcamped Mac for years now, and it is almost certainly due to the antedeluvian drivers Apple have provided for it. So with a bit of luck, it's just a driver issue in your case too — the wrong bit of data is read or written so you're looking at the visual representation of the warp physics data structure or some such — and with bad luck, your GFX card (specifically its memory) is slowly dying… I saw something similar on an old computer ages ago in the months leading up to its untimely demise.

But if it's the first, it could both be the client telling the graphics drivers bad things, or it could be the drivers themselves that screw things up.

Since the expansion yesterday, I have been getting this message when I try to use the launcher:

Browser cannot display the webpage for: http://none/en?steam_token=

This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including:
Internet connectivity has been lost.
The website is temporarily unavailable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website's domain.
There might be a typing error in the address.

Hi,

it seems that scooping the new mobile tractor unit is buggy as well. I have to leave the grid and reenter to be able to sccop the unit.

A few bug/annoyances I encountered since Rubicon:

1. The "humming" sound of wormholes is almost completely gone. I have to crank up the volume and zoom into it @ 0m to barely hear it. Same with the sound when u jump through a wormhole. (My sound settings were the same as before exp.)

2. Camera auto-resets after wh/gate-jump, sometimes when that screen is in focus and every time its not in focus, (as in running in the background due to running multiple clients) .

3. Tab'ing between clients is painful. Before, I could tab between clients, either directly or via desktop/windowsbutton without problems. Now, it often just flickers my screen and it jumps out to desktop or back to the client I was tab'ing from.

4. There are also several ppl who experiences lots of disconnects. This turned out to be (in most cases) due to running DX11. These ppl ran DX11 before expansion without problems. The problem seemed to disappear when they switched to DX9 instead.

5. Oh, and btw: Thx for a great game Smile

Command Ship Skill requirements changes ???

After the patch the Eos and Nighthawk (I could fly pre patch) are now saying I still have 15 days training as it now required :

Information Warfare lvl 5 and
Skirmish Warfare level 5 ??

Only notes on them I can find in patch notes is the change in model (and screw up of invention).

Is this a bit of a booboo or a stealthy way of making them even less worth considering unless ur actually going to use those gang links ?!

the camera zooming in close when jumping or docking is becoming a right PITA. Why do you reintroduce this bug with every update? New bugs i can understand but not the same ones continually been reintroduced.

I am not sure if this is a bug or if it is intended behaviour:

When right-clicking an item in station, in a container, or in the "Assets" view, the option "Split Stack" is no longer offered. The only way to split a local stack is by shift-dragging it. Remote stacks can only be split through the contracts interface.

It is not a big thing because there is a work-around but it is also not an improvement of the work-flow for a busy carebear (and probably others) so I hope this is not the intended behaviour but a bug that will be fixed eventually.

I am not sure if this is a bug or if it is intended behaviour:

Mousing-over an item in the contracts interface open a pop-up with full information on the item. For example I get when mousing-over some Golden Omber in the contract interface:

>> Golden Omber spurred one of the largest gold rushes in the early
>> days of space faring, when isogen was the king of minerals. The
>> 10% extra yield it offers over common Omber was all it took to make
>> it the most sought after ore for a few years.

>> Omber is a common ore that is still an excellent ore for novice miners
>> as it has a sizeable portion of isogen, as well as some tritanium and
>> pyerite. A few trips of mining this and a novice is quick to rise in status.
>> 500 ore units are needed for refining.

If I mouse-over the same item in station I get

>> 406 x Golden Omber
>> Estimated Price
>> 77.50
>> 31,500.00 ISK (entire stack)

It is a lot of extra information to have thrown on you when you're least likely to need it. Who needs the full item information when they're filling contracts ?

I can't hear anything!! Ive got "World Level" and "Master Level" both set to 100, and I can barely hear myself jump through a wormhole. The rest of the in-game sound seems completely washed out as well!

I am still in the same fix as yesterday 1pm UTC, I have no way to connect to the client, I have done clean installs 3 times, done as many fixes as I could, done repair multiple times, done the launcher updater and I have no old programs and all that the updater does for me is starts the launcher downloads and verifies then I go back to the same play/launch loop of getting nowhere. Is this going to get fixed? because I spent about 24 hours trying to find and correct the situation myself and I am exactly where I was when I began.. NO SERVICE Connection with EVEonline. I believe I am not the only one with this issue, based on the continuous comments in this forum.. EVEonline wont let me put in a bug or a support ticket, although I have no active reports in the system. I am getting extremely frustrated with the issue and I have run out of options to try to fix it on my own. Sad Can someone PLEASE do something about the issue. Thank you, if you do...

None of this changed with the patch. It's been like that since Odyssey. You probably just haven't looked until now.

It's entirely intentional and it is there to ensure that as new command ship pilots are being created, those pilots will have the core skills that make the command ship what it is: a fleet booster. Old players who might have trained it for different (or very narrow) reasons aren't affected since they can already fly the ships and since there is pretty much no way to lose the Command Ship skill itself.

Pre Rubicon, I could activate a mjd pretty much as I came out of warp.

Now I have to wait until my ship is only moving at about 35km.

Meant to be so, or a bug?

This is not a signature.

Well one's a BPC so no i didn't fly that Roll

Finally got to the NH I had in a station hoping it wasn't a wasted trip and yes I can still fly it.

So result is : Skill requirements are the same. The skill requirements displayed on the Ship info are incorrect.

And Mr James Amril-Kesh thanks so much for your very helpful post #uselesstroll What?

Switched out of my tengu inside a station into another ship and saw this:

"You were recently pulled forcefully from your Tengu which resulted in you losing 210745 skill points from the skill Caldari Electronic Systems."

Odd.

Details: Switched from Tengu to an ibis.

No, the skill requirements on the ship are correct.
You're just not reading them correctly.

You need exactly two skills to fly a command ship: [Racial] Battlecruiser V and Command Ships I. No less, no more.

You need a whole bunch of skills to train the battlecruiser and command ship skills, but none of those skills are required to actually fly the ship.
