Ishtar Angel-space fit

So I'm sort of... Looking into moving out to some NPC Angel space to do exploration, and living out of a yurt for a while. I guess it's my medium term goal for now. I can't actually fly an Ishtar yet, but I will be able to soon enough. Anyway, fitting the data/relic modules is easy enough, but I'm trying to come up with an Ishtar fit that could also do the combat sites I find. I've read my way to the understanding that shield tanking would be best for Angel space due to the Ishtar's resists. However, I'm no fitting god, so I'd appreciate any help/feedback.

[Ishtar, Shield Tank]
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Power Diagnostic System II
Damage Control II

10MN Afterburner II
Pith C-Type Explosive Deflection Field
Pith C-Type Kinetic Deflection Field
Pithum C-Type Medium Shield Booster
Adaptive Invulnerability Field II

Improved Cloaking Device II
Small 'Solace' Remote Armor Repairer
Salvager II
[empty high slot]

Medium Capacitor Control Circuit I
Medium Drone Scope Chip II

Garde II x5
Bouncer II x5
Vespa EC-600 x5
Warrior II x5
Hobgoblin II x5
Salvage Drone I x5

This fit is cap-stable with everything relevant to combat running (So none of the highslot stuff), and I figure it should be okay without a shield buffer due to the fairly high resists. 96% Kinetic and 86% Explosive. 751 DPS (All V) with Garde II's. I've never lived in null or done the sites out there, so it's entirely possible the sites have components in play that I need to fit for, I just don't know right now.

I could go for 2 drone rigs instead (Offline both the cloak and remote repper for CPU reasons), but then I'd only have cap for 5 minutes. Is that enough for the average site, or should I stick to the CCC?

first suggestion, get a pith a-type explosive hardener. You need the extra explosive resistance, the performance increase is notable, and they are dirt cheap.

IMO drone link augmenter is required. Nailing stuff at 100km with bouncers is just too useful. Often you warp in, quickly pop the webbing towers, then burn away from the warp-in beacon to safely snipe (and be away from people who might be behind you)

I would really want to drop the kinetic hardener for an omnilink, and the drone rig for another tank rig. I think those rig choices kind of limit you. If you put an omnilink as a mid, you can use both rigs for tanking, and still drop the omnilink for even more tank when you feel you need it. I can't really be definitive here. Its just that the omnilink does so much more than a single rig slot, but you'll never really need both an omnilink and a scope chip.

In either case, you've got an EM-hole the size of a dominix, and if you're not careful you WILL die because of it. Cherubims and some tacklers do heavy EM damage, additionally some turrets do it, and in particular the boss of the 6/10 does heavy EM damage. Your only chance here is to do AMPLE research and make tons of use of the eve DB website (http://games.chruker.dk/eve_online/). Use your rig slots on resistance/tanking ability if you can. Capacitor is nice but not if your tank is breaking fast.

5 minutes of cap life with both afterburner and booster and hardeners on is fine. You can faction the AB for more cap.

Ishtar has absolute crap for a shield buffer, so you better be overtanked and twitchy on hitting the overload button. proper usage of overloading in exploration is absolutely key. Having a damage control helps.

Angel sites have a disproportionately large number of webbing towers and webbing frigates. Careful of this. Often the stasis towers are triggers, however they can be volleyed with sentry drones quite fast. Do your research.

The angel 10/10 has no frigates of any kind and you can solo it if you're competent. If you find it, have no fear. Just make sure to nail the stasis towers in room 4, don't try to break the two loot structures in room 3 and 4 solo, and in the final room snipe the boss immediately before he kills you.

Thanks a ton for that thorough and informative post. The combat sites I've done in highsec I've all looked up as well, but my knowledge of low and null is limited. This is all really good stuff.

I've tried to take what you've said into account below. The cap seems fine on All V (Lasts 11+ min), DPS is the same obviously. Offlining the cloak means there's enough CPU, and... I've made a note to bring extra-extra nanite paste. :) Anyway, here's another try. I don't know if it's wise to try and help the EM hole with the rigs or if you had something else in mind.

I think I'd use core defense field extender rigs as only the overseers do EM damage in DED sites. The overseer in the 10/10 can instapop a T3 if it scores a wrecking hit so you might even need a Large Shield Extender and some luck as well.

my suggestion was to skate by on the invuln and damage control normally, and pre-emptively add an EM hardener when you know you have EM damage coming up, making use of the mobile depot. Its probably not worth using an EM rig all of the time. Extenders are probably a decent idea considering the HP issues, but you will want to be able to perma the booster as well, again because of HP issues.

Look up the potential "mean" overseers on that database to see what you're up against.

Worst comes to worst you can rely on the ishtar's native tracking/range bonus and use the extra slot for more tank. You can probably fit an LSE easily too. Which again opens up the possibility of using a drone scope chip. Fitting a 4 slot tank would also allow you to fit a 4th DDA without much issue, or even a flux coil to ensure you can permarun everything forever.

This is a fit that i fly in null running anomoly's, dont know yet how it preforms in DED sites but its biggest strenght is that it can permarun a microwarpdrive, enabling speedtanking.

[Ishtar, Ishtar Shield]
Damage Control II
Capacitor Power Relay II
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Drone Damage Amplifier II

Large Shield Extender II
Large Shield Extender II

425mm AutoCannon II, Hail M
425mm AutoCannon II, Hail M

Medium Core Defense Field Purger II
Medium Core Defense Field Purger II

Valkyrie II x5
Warrior II x10
Light Armor Maintenance Bot I x5
Bouncer II x5
Berserker II x5

cap stable at 54% and goes 1663 m/s
dps is 811 with Berserkers, and hail ammo.
It is very tight to fit everything, you realy need lv 5 skils and you still only have 5 cpu and 2 pg left

Thanks to the tracking and speed bonus heavy's get from the Ishtar they can hit anything, even elite frigs.
Tactic with Ishtar is that you dont stop moving. Just orbit a npc bs and let the guns and heavy drones do the hurting.
