How Do I Play Eve Online As First Person View?

I can't find it. Everytime I wanted to give Eve Online a try, I wanted to play it just how I play it on Microsoft Freelancer.

But, I keep seeing third player view. I wanted to use more keyboard and less mouse - click there, click that. It doesn't seem to help my interaction. So, I don't know. I wanted to get a easy answer for a easy question.

You don't. The third person view you see is the only one there is.

There are many keyboard shortcuts you can use though. Q to approach, W to orbit, E to keep at range, etc. You can find the list in the escape menu settings and change them as well to suit your taste.

I am not a big third player view fan. So, I guess that might nail the coffin of giving Eve Online another chance or unless I feel like casually playing Eve Online AS-IS.

All well, sux.

Ever time I play Starcraft, I want to take a marine and go FPS mode with him but it just won't let me because it's not that kind of game.

Haha...

That spoiled the game for me as well.

I really wanted to play as the zerg in first person view but since I can't I stopped because they said it is an RTS only.

HOW Dare they make EVE a tactical game rather then like Freelancer.

I personally love the third person view, gives me more situational awareness.

I once tried Sins of a solar empire but it didnt let me go into FPS mode....

OP, this is NOT Freelancer, this is EVE. Each game in the world is build differently and thus has its own mechanics and how you play it. In EVE its all from a 3rd person view.

EVE is more like Homeworld than Freespace.

Actually, it's very reminiscent of Homeworld.

You'd be an idiot to play eve first person. You don't realise that yet since you havnt played it much, so don't blame yourself ;)

You need to be able to SEE everything going on around you in space. Eve is a very zoomed out game so a first person view while it might look nice, would make the game almost unplayable.

EDIT : That said i think i saw a nice first person preview on an eve vid recently. Occulus Rift?

Uggh, I can't stand FPS!

EVE is more of a turn-based strategy game, not a "twitch". It doesn't matter how fast your reflexes are, nor how many combo moves you can execute.

Noob corp member failing to see that OP is in noob corp.

Fail at spotting a troll.

He has made the character 6 years ago, that doesnt mean he is playing for 6 years.

Ok, that looked like a troll to me, yep I am pretty new - so how do you know that someone who has a six year old character, has not been playing for six years?

The OP being in a noob corp shouldn't mean anything should it? I was under the impression that you can stay in any npc corp as long as you like. Forum skill obviously needs improving.
