Calling all miners and indy toons (what the thread should have been)

I posted this in the other thread, however I've made the decision to make a new one.
It's getting tiring now seeing thread after thread with illogical suggestions on how to deal with miner griefers. I think it's time we have a thread where we can explain to the carebears (in my case fellow carebears) exactly what they are doing wrong and exactly how they should be dealing with these situations.

People are going about the revolution all wrong.

1) Fit properly. Everyone should be in a Procurer. It should be fitted like a beast. It should be fit with ECM drones. Make gankers work for their kills. Make them pay more for their ships than yours was worth.
2) Your subscription is about to expire. Use that PLEX to extend a newly created trial account. You now have a 51-day account and a free PLEX. Extend your subscription on your main like usual. Use the alt, train it to fly a Blackbird. Congrats, you're now able to jam 2 gankers almost always.
3) Offer 0 tears. In fact, offer 0 words at all.
4) Stop wardeccing them, stop trying to gank them back, stop giving them attention on the forums.
5) Learn to enjoy other aspects of the game. Gankers crowding your systems? Go duel a corp member. Go run a mission.

If we all did this, we could all just sit back and laugh at how much effort they put per 1 measly Procurer being ganked. They would be effectively griefing themselves, having to organize with several other gankers just to land one little kill on a hull worth under 10mil ISK nowadays.

But no. NO. Let's sit in 200 million ISK hulls instead. Let's tank like a 12 year old girl instead. Let's pour a river of tears down local each time they frustrate us. That'll work...

All other indy pilots that have seen the light: Spread the word. Erase the ignorance.

Edit:

Was it this other thread? https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&find=unread&t=294221

The information received there did turn out to be pretty helpful. I even included a good fit for better miningCool

I was hunting for sick loot, but all I could get my hands on were 50 corpses[:|]..............[:=d]

Or you could just get a mining permit. Takes like 5 mins.

You don't need a tank who told you this. i fit my meds with painters and webs to hold down the roids and allow me to get larger yield with the painters.

Try it.

No, seriously, go ahead. Take the time to setup some kind of "Miner Education Program", work to getting people through this, and learning all about how to mine properly.

And watch them ignore you when the slightly bigger dollar signs of the Retriever flash in front of them.

So basically:

A) Buy the permit and follow the code.
or
B) Tank your ship
and/or
C) Have your ship orbit a roid when mining so as to reduce the chances of you getting bumped.

Do I want CCP tp develop a magic button that can spot scripted mining? Sure. Would I like to see more mechanics that turn mining from a sleepfest into a minigame that actually rewards player interaction? Of course.

On that note, I place "mining permits" in the same category as "isk doubling"; every person you convince to do this, rather then create a player that just moves elsewhere and tanks their ship, they make dumber, not better.

I would rather get blown to bits in a ship and be told "your fit lacked X, and you should have flown it like this :link: " then "Ha-ha n00b, gimme bribe to leave you alone next time".

What's next? Trying to convince people the earth is flat? Is that the level of the delusion now?

Remind me of that scene where that Cardassian is trying to get Picard to say "there is five lights", only here James315 is asking "how many mining permits do you need?" and kills or bumps you until you say at least "one".

I apparently have no idea what I'm doing.

A mining permit is the single most important part of a mining fit, more important even than mining lasers.

A mining laser is an in game item. A mining permit is someone's delusion. Just call it protection money, lets call the metagame "the mafia" and get it over with.

It does not stop bots, it just provides some entertainment for those easily entertained.

I apparently have no idea what I'm doing.

I do like ganking Procurers. Sure you need more than one ship to do it, but they have tastier implants than the other barges, because the bot aspirants in them think they are invincible.

The value of money is just a delusion, and yet when enough people share that delusion, it becomes a thing.

I'd also like to point out that this whole permit deal sounds very much like a mafia scheme.
In the end this is a reasonably sophisticated protection racket.

I think you need to look up "delusion" and revisit what you just said. Unless you think that people that post here are also a delusion, in which case you might need a shrink.

An AFK Blackbird is not gonna jam anyone. And if you're not AFK, why not go do something that's actually not mind numbingly boring and earns you more ISK than mining?

scamming is also a thing here, and ganking (which isn't pvp)

Wouldn't a racket be the same as a scam anyway?
(Maybe closer to extortion)
