It sounded kinda interesting at the start, then I clicked the link from the other thread for the kill board.

You certainly seem like a stable and well adjusted individual, I'm sure this endeavour will be a great success.

That said, Stain is pretty much the worst choice you could make for this due to the awful logistics situation. I'm assuming the only reason you'd choose it is so that any poor sucker that chooses to follow you down there cannot easily pack up and leave without abandoning their ships and other valuables.

Oh wow.....that thread is pure gold.

Also, stain is pretty decent for smaller entities. It's one jump from lowsec via jump freighter to Nrt (needs JC 5) or T-nn (JC4). T-nn is a kickout station where jump freighters go to die, so make sure you have JC 5 if your using a JF. Or just use a carrier and you have loads of options. The isk in stain is pretty decent. Stain Lvl 4's pay out 3-4x as much as hisec lvl 4s due to the higher value lp and whatnot. The truesec is also pretty good for anoms/exploration.

Hello,

I must point out that this is a disciplined style of gameplay that can be very successful if we have a good teamwork ethic.

And there's the problem, everyone with a good team work ethic is either already in nullsec/wormhole space or ganking those who don't have good teamwork skills in high sec.

I somewhat disagree, I believe there are lots of people who want to work as a team still in hi-sec. I'd even go as far as saying the hi-sec populace outnumbers the null-sec sov/npc community greatly.

If this is to work we have to give the hi-sec dwellers a reason to come down here. I feel this maybe something that hi-sec corps and alliances can pioneer. So for example, if a hi sec corp wanted to come here and do ghost sites it would make some sense to ally themselves with someone like me. they would benefit from my intel and security and I would benefit by having allies. a mining/manufacture corp can then come down here and support us by ensuring we have the minerals/ships to achieve our goals.

Maybe this is an exercise in what drives people. I'd certainly like to see a hi-sec coalition kick some ass and hold their own.

Is the OP the same Aaron from the Hub Zero concept years back?

If so, let's not forget what happened last time.

I think what will work if tried again is NOT to attempt to centrally manage it and to use a market to bring the concept out. Think back to the ways of olde - it always started out as a trading post. There are already some nullsec "privateers" operating out there and they already have ways of dealing with the usual gankaholics and nefarious nabobs. If you try to "bring people in" under any auspices of a concept, then you attract people whose whole game is acting like your friend and then ganking you or occasionally someone else and then playing politics to deny it. Don't try to give them an ordered to corrupt or a structure for them to make a trophy out of.

Good luck.

Isn't the whole plan to actually create a semi-private market hub?

Hello Herzog,

Yes its me, good to know you're reading as your input is greatly appreciated.

I do agree with you as it goes. I would actually like to be perceived as a caretaker that knows lots. I don't want to be a leader, I just want to be a guy who gives advice on how to achieve this Hub Zero.

I do feel that there should be a forum/town hall for people to air their views and opinions.

Ah I see your edit.

Again, I agree it's a difficult one. I think anywhere you go there will always be some sort of structure for someone to corrupt and use to their means. The way I see this concept is that the structure will be the dudes who organise stuff to do here such as mining, ghost sites, sanctums, plex, pvp.

My feeling is that there will always be dudes who want to knock down your sandcastle and will go to great means to achieve this. I view these people as part of the game. Manipulation is rife.

This is the same Aaron that I have set to red because he kills innocent explorers. LOL. He's just looking for more victims in Stain as those down here are on to him and go on the defensive when he shows up. Great Job tho... now i have to move because Stain will become even more crowded.

+1 for inconveniencing me

I do support your idea in theory, I think it would be great. However a couple things man...

1) Considering how much you snapped in that previous thread about 1.5 years ago, you would have been MUCH better off doing this on a different character.
2) This is just not possible in EVE Online. The more succesful you are, the more people are going to come and try to tear it down. Fact is you are not as big as N3. You are not as big as the CFC. Even if you were, that would not be a peaceful place for hi-sec dwellers; it would be an absolute warzone.

Sorry but this isn't going to happen my friend, there's no "peace" in EVE.

The thread 1.5 years ago was locked for reasons I can't talk about. I withdrew my claim for 25b.

I think the fun comes from trying to do it. The last time didn't work out as planned but I had the most fun I ever had in eve to date. And it was great to chat with lots of different people.

This is exactly what will help make this adventure a success, cool dudes offering a freight service. If you are serious it is possible for you to get lots of work and a great reputation. Good on you buddy, I will be in contact very soon.

I'm actually very excited about this as logistics is crucial to any operation, I was going to see if I could get an account with Black frog Logistics, I anticipated there would be a big response to this with lots of people looking to give it a try.

We already have this, its called Providence.
