Symmetry in ship weapon appearance

Main point:
Ships with lopsided and asymmetric weapon placements look like garbage. CCP can change whatever they want about a ship's appearance, but terrible weapon placement still makes it look terrible.

Since this patch some ships, that were great to look at, have been degenerated into their lopsided/mismatched brethren. Malediction is a good example of ships who have joined the completely fail weapon placement bracket. Changing Absolution to Harbinger hull will highlight Harbinger's bad weapon placement. This is easy to fix. Everyone like symmetry, nature likes symmetry.

Stop trying to be different CCP. You're already fixing plenty that does not need to be fixed, how about fixing the lamest thing about ship appearance for years running.

You've tried sticking them everywhere else, now try a symmetric arrangement that actually looks good and functional.

I actually like the placement of most of the weapons in EVE. I wil mega super duper ultra raeg harcore all the timez any taim very frustrate if CCP changes the asymmetric weapon placements.

On a more serious note, it's really a matter of opinion or taste. A lot of people actually like and enjoy what you're proposing to change in this thread. Straight

Yeh but many don't. Some people don't care how their spaceship looks in a game where you fly an internet spaceship, but I am moderately interested in my ship not looking like it competes in the special olympics.

Many disagree but you are right and they are wrong?

This is a terrible thread. As such, it's locked. - CCP Falcon

That's really quite offensive. Feel free to suggest symmetric hardpoints, but don't be rude about it please.

Yeah I've been undergoing sensitivity training after too much time on C&P forums. You will have to forgive me. I did not realize someone out there actually liked guns randomly stapled on ships with obvious hard points now appearing empty since CCP deleted high slots but did not reconfigure the weapon arrangement.

There's a thread about what they did to the Malediction in the Test Server Feedback forum.

As for the Absolution, the turrets can be arranged symmetrically if you don't mind having one turret in the middle:

From left to right in the fitting window:
Turret || No Turret || Turret || Turret || No Turret || Turret || Turret

It also gives superior overheating performance through increased turret longevity.

People actually zoom in far enough to see their ship? zoom in far enough to see where their weapons are placed?

Whilst I think you have a valid opinion, I both agree and disagree with you. Allow me to explain, asymmetric ships can have asymmetric weapon placement, however Symmetric ships should have Symmetric weapon placement.
(I still prefer the old Scorpion model, that Asymmetric beast was awesome)

This, if your ship isn't a tiny bracket on your screen, you're doing it wrong.
