None of these Fixes work for me. i don't have the launcher.old.exe file anywhere. and the folder I'm supposed to delete is there but the folder i am supposed to keep is a completely different number. Now my launcher goes i hit play it says launching for a minute and goes back to saying play and nothing happens

edit; this is the only folder i have EVE_Online_Launcher-2.1.655130.win32

I have none of the files mentioned in the above fix. I've run the repair tool. When I try to launch the game it says loading and then goes back to the play button.

Ok, so I tried a few things.. Changing back to Direct X9 from the launcher tool made the game launch for me. Try that, folks!

This is what I got. deleted the launcher, redownloaded it from a link,
now Im updating client hoping for good launch afterwards.

I tried pasting the error, but I get forum error "html not allowed" orsomething like it....WTF?

05. try repair tool

07. try Dev's solution

Stuck here -> (3/4): APPLYING EVE_ONLINE_640633-653401_WIN.PATCH: 3.0%

No launcher old, nothing else works. I expect to see a post by CCP either resolving this or actually telling us how to get around this by the time I am off work tonight. Tired of having to pretend I'm a ****ing computer detective every time there is a patch.

Well - per the norm of the last several patches nothing worked properly. This worked for me:

1) Run repair.exe - it will fail, repeatedly - so only once is necessary.

2) Remove all the ".PATCH" files

3) Run repair.exe - runs in a few seconds.

Done. This worked for a simple install and for a Steam install.
