Best Ship for Commanding a Fleet

If I wanted to pick a ship to command a fleet from while still contributing to the fight, what would I use? Command ship, ewar, else? For small or fleet battles?

dont pick an ewar ship, they are high on the list of targets for the enemy. And if you are FC you need to be on the field to give orders. so pick something tanky but non threatening. or just be one in the crowd and hope they dont primary you.

never pick: ewar or logi. both are high on the priority list of targets and logi means you should be paying attention to peoples HP so your attention will be divided.

LN hit the nail on the head pretty much, also you never mentioned what your fleet comprises of. obviously if you are doing a frig gang you aren't going to be FCing in a command ship.... I hope lol

Right, thanks. I wasn't very clear. I wasn't specifying a fleet type because I want suggestions for many kinds.

well.. pick the main dps ship for whatever fleet you are in to be in yourself. it is usually the best option. but many fleet doctrins will change that, tanky tackle proteus is a popular choice in all t3 fleets for example.

but in general, be like a fish and hide in the large school of fishes :) and sing under the sea

last part optional but earns extra credits

For armor fleet: Damnation.
For shield fleet: Claymore.

Accept no T3 substitutes. Lokis are popular for off-grid wing commander boosts.

he said command not boost from. hard to be FC when you are off grid :)
