90% people wont pvp with this expesnive class anyway. but everyone gonna pve with them. They made it so OP especially for high sec . for low sec using bastion could be very risky but not high sec. believe me when i say im happy but another part of me is sad that there is no point to use any other ship in high sec missions.

I can see the EW immunity as being really, freaking nice against several NPC factions for a select few missions. The Bastion's added tank makes for a nice "oh ****!" button and lets you get away with really cheap tanks, but I'm thinking that:
* Paladin - gains the most from the hull bonus changes, i.e. ridiculous optimal, the ability to swap between tachyons and mega-pulses in mission via a Mobile Depot, and the PG buff that make fitting Tachyons easy
* Kronos - no opinion, because I still just can't like hybrids for PvE,
* Golem - the 5 second TPs (combined with the previous cruise missile changes) make it shine, and
* the Vargur did very well before Rubicon and doesn't really benefit from Bastion mode all that much. Maybe the fast cycling MJD can make up for the DPS loss to falloff? A DPS loss that's now more pronounced given the other Marauder's Optimal ranges.

tl;dr - Yes, marauders are high-sec PvE easy mode in Rubicon, but I wouldn't give too much credit to the bastion module.

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

i had a l4 serp blockade on test server, i decided to try a max gank navi domi 1200+ dps shield tanker. couldnt even get pass the second spawn due to sensor damp to death. i spent 10min being not able to lock on i finally decide to leave due to boredom.

If it's a viable fleet doctrine, they will use it.

I don't think it really matters what is OP in PvE and I don't see what it has to with high sec specifically. Bastion module was created to give Marauders a purpose in PvP.

Bastion gives you a weapons timer even if you don't fire, you have to wait 1 min after turning it off before you can dock.

No they won't. The SP required are a pretty effective barrier. All the Marauders are different enough that a fleet doctrine would have to focus around all of one racial type. Less than 10% of the playerbase has Marauders trained and the playerbase is heavily skewed towards Caldari skills. For a Kronosfleet, even if you assume 20% of players with Marauders trained are Gallente and have T2 large hybrids trained, you'd still only have 200 total characters that can fly your doctrine in a 10,000-character alliance. Now you have to get them all to log on at the same time.

Can't say that T2 Tachyons were hard to fit on the Paladin to begin with, the only thing it really required was swapping the T2 Armour Repair for a Faction one, used every last point of PG on the ship, but easy enough.

The new Paladin is a lot of fun though, hopping around with the quick cycling MJD and pulverising everything from range with the Tachyons, either boosted by Bastion Mode or not.

Bastion Mode for PVE... No thank you...

1) Enter Bastion Mode and laugh at your repping power and how you can bbq the npc's
2) See a Red/Neutral guy apearing in system, due to a whormhole/login/no report
3) Continue in Bastion mode but this time crying to see if the damn cycle ends
4) Watch the red guy land on your side
5) Watch your cycle almost ending
6) See the red guy tacking you and light a cyno
...
7) Update your clone and watch your fancy ship loss mail

Except, you know... while in Bastion mode you can't get tackled. So those who don't pay attention might not scram it down quick enough. Also long point is useless if it MJDs.

The OP thread seems like troll bait...

Agreed.. T2 tachs have always fit without issues for PVE. Of course I've never tried without a faction repper. If I'm spending a bil for the hull I can afford 100 mil for a repper lol

Faction BS still have superrior DPS compared to marauders. And you dont need that repping for normal anomaly or mission and for capital escallations you need triage carrier anyway.

I would of though the Fountain war with Baltec fleets and drone assist domi fleets would mean people who are in place to follow large doctrine would have Gal BS and large hybrid at least partially covered. I understand short term it`s hard to pull off but if you ask players to put some time into it, you have at least some of the base covered.

The price of such fleet on the other had might be large depending on how much more it brings to the table compared to T1 BS fleets...

To address the actual OP, knowing full well it's most likely a troll (I like to hope people aren't actually this stupid)

Why fly a Vexor when an Ishtar is so much better? Why CCP make OP HACs?

Why fly a hurricane when sleipnir has better dps and fleet links? Why CCP make OP command ships?

Why haul with a mammoth when I can get a Fenrir with a million times the cargo space?

Do I need to go on, or are we through here?
