First loss was a Rifter, doing a Level 2 mission maybe. What I thought: "Dang, you sure do pop quick once the damage gets into the hull!" Second thought: "I never noticed how slow ships are to initiate warp." Third thought: "Dang, I sure am a dumbarse! Why did I wait so long to start warping out?" (I didn't realize at the time that you can warp in and out of missions. I thought you had to complete the whole thing in one go). Ugh

I'd just joined a corp and was too embarrassed to tell my corp mates about losing that Rifter. Had to mine in a reaper for a while to a new one. Eventually a corp mate saw me mining and I had to confess. He loaned me about 4mil and I was set for awhile. Good times.

Confused. Didn't know why my ship melted so fast...or what lowsec was.

Got revenge though a year later :3

I don't remember my first loss. It was probably a slasher in missions or something. my first big loss was a pod with full genalution core augmentation implants a few weeks ago. I forgot to switch clones before going on a low sec roam and warped into a smart bombing battleship. The funny thing is, I didn't care that much. I've kinda gotten to the point where I think "its just isk". I can't afford to replace the implants, but its not really necessary to do so.

I also don't remember my first kill but apparently I was in a drake in low sec. God knows why (I was a mission runner at the time).

I lost my first ship, an Iteron II, when I was mining in a wormhole with a friend straight after doing the tutorials. One mining laser, 2 cargo extenders and an afterburner. We didn't get killed by sleepers though, some assault frigate found us first.

Dagan. Or does that not count?

Apparently my first actual PvP loss was me taking a Laser/Mining Laser Cormorant into Lowsec. To this day I still do not understand why I chose to run those Lasers, although the Mining Lasers sorta made sense since I was too broke to use the Mining Cruiser.

Lost my very first ship Incursus in EVE Uni PvP event where Faction vs Faction fight. Gallente won whole thing and I felt good. :D

My 1st real PvP loss was my Ares when I held Drake long enough to EVE Uni fleet to arrive but he managed to take me down aswell as he poped. But frigates, even T2 are cheap so I didnt felt bad at all, specially when we managed to kill target anyway.

My most WTF loss was then I was flying on Taranis and warped from one gate to another into Pandemic Legion battleship filled with bombs RIGHT at the spot I appeared. Wasnt sad because it tought me great lesson not to warp from gate to gate, specially in frigate hull.

But way I play EVE not many ship losses for me, but never really care. If I do lose one, I make sure I can by at least 4 fully fitted ships I might lose.

I self destructed my frigate to dmg and scare a corp mate on his armageddon on my 2nd or 3rd day..

Me: Ahh my frig can heavily dmg you!!
Corpie: hmm you know Self-destruct do not cause AoE dmg.
Me: really? but i asploded didn't i?
Corpie: yes yes but you can't hurt anyone with that.
Me: Dammit!!

On Rhiv: 2008: My mighty awesome blackbird of doom and annoyance...with my many varied jammers of doominess...until I had all of the cycles miss. Increasing panic as they missed one after the other, managed to survive until they recycled, then missed again...didnt make it through the 2nd cooldown

On an alt (also 2008, so a few months old); I found out that when in a rifter, when tackling battleships killing the drones is the thing to do. That was a "WTF" moment, and where I also learned to keep a full eye on the fight, cos it's the things you miss/ignore that make you explode. The FC was cloaked up in a falcon going "Kill the drones Rhiv...RHIV..DRONES!" and I was all focussed on being awesome orbiting inside his guns.
Whilst I was really mad at myself for being so caught up in the moment that I died, it made me interested in taking roles which gave me an overview of the situation, and taught me to keep calm when **** hits the fan, so after a bit more practice, I swapped to scouting/intel/helping train other newbies.

My first PvP loss was due to a war dec..

mate was like stay docked.. i was like screw that undocked and attaked the closest red to me

Actually i will correct myself.. looks like i took a poorly fit ratting vextor into null or some ungodly reason..
