The one thing I will be complaining about however is that the Sleipnir model mutated into a Hurricane.

The standard line up of ship toasters will flood the forums for the next 2-3 weeks with their normal useless whines and in about a month only 5-8 true foil hats will remain harping about stuff that they have been harping about ever since being told to do so by the voices in their head (despite the foil hat).

So, business as usual.

CCP Greyscale: As to starbases, we agree it's pretty terrible, but we don't want to delay the entire release just for this one factor.

CCP Tallest will reveal that he's actually been wearing stilts this whole time.

1) the warp speed changes will be severely and partially nerfed by bringing the warp changes back to where they were pre-rubicon for ships larger then a cruiser after there is a loud howl from the players (the majority of whom dont pay attention to the forums) when they realize that flying a bs, orca, freighter, barge, exhumer, and indy has become totally unbearable. Carebears in particular will scream, since flying a freighter already a tedious activity becomes tortuous. (As an aside, I dont know if anybody else has ever bothered to do the eve survey that gets sent around by ccp in the mail - but i always get a kick out of the question that asks in sum and substance on a scale of 1 to 10 rate the statement "eve is always fun").

I've been wondering if this will have any effect on market prices. If the increased travel time for freighters and industrials is substantial (or feels like it to the players) then that could cause prices to rise as travel becomes more "expensive" in a similar way that prices would rise in response to 18-wheeler fuel going up in price here.

My prediction is fairly simple, EvE online will have spaceships.

Thats a pretty far fetched conspiracy theory there. Everybody knows spaceships will never be part of EVE.

TEARS!!!
They will start out like a lite sprinkling in the springtime that slowly turns into that hard rain of a summer afternoon in the Southeastern US. This will give way to bucket and truck loads of course culminating with the preverbial boatloads.

The tears will be delicious!Bear

1. Pretty sure I read that the ships that warp slower than 3.0 au/s aren't having their travel times changed much as they are already slow enough to have their travel times affected by low cruising speed. Battleships are where it will hurt the most. Probably the Orca too.

They may do something about fast warping ships appearing or disappearing from grid in a single tick, either by slowing deceleration speed so you can see a ceptor landing on you, or introducing an effect to indicate when someone has warped (although this exists, a targetted ship that gets destroyed blinks, a warping ship just disappears).

2. won't change because the pirates always spawn first giving you a warning, also the explosion should be tankable by larger ships like a buffer-fit t3.

I was moving fitted BS around this last weekend - and boy is it already painful. Anything that makes it even more inconvenient is sure to make players avoid those type of ships. Interestingly, I predict that those who chase after HS incursions will be most effected. All those faction BS being followed by their orcas and support ships - be like moving through molasses as they travel around HS - cant be fun.

If CCP Tallest really was Tallest, we would have our Megadoomer already.

I predict bitching...lots and lots of bitching. More importantly I predict I'll have to wait a few months for SoE ships to stabilise in price.

The most howling will come from miners and ratters who will now have something new to blame their losses on, despite the fact that they would have lost their ship regardless.

Are you predicting more ratting losses due to intercept times or is this based off some other factor I'm not aware of?

2) the ghost sites will be nerfed/altered to eliminate the self destruct timer once carebears start complaining about the unfairness of a hidden timer which destroys their ships without regard to the skill of the player, and which can be "abused" for tears in highsec.

If anything, the ghost sites are not nearly dangerous enough right now.

The explosion should force the player to decide if they should keep popping cans to maximize their loot, or bug out before **** gets real.

Unfortunately, the explosion is trivially tankable, which nullifies the decision. There's NO reason you shouldn't just keep popping cans until you eat the explosion - you'll be fine.

If nothing else, hacking the sites in high or low sec should give a suspect flag - this would at least keep with the whole, "Concord doesn't want you doing this," theme for the sites.

As a dedicated explorer, I support this post. Ghost sites should be a lot rougher than they are now. The suspect flag would also be a pretty cool nod to the fact we're really not supposed to be doing this.

I hope you're right and totally wrong at the same time. Most likely, we'll get some half-implementation and it will be horrible.

While there will be numerous complaints, there will be those fanatical fan boys / white knights claiming CCP is the best of the best and everything they have done with this expansion / patch will be gold... even if CCP later changes stuff, these same "CCP can do no wrong" types will still be crowing their tired, old song and dance routine.

That's my prediction.
