Gank-bears do what they do for one reason. It's high reward for absolutely zero risk. It's EvE on easy-mode. I find it highly ironic that these sorts of players also bang on and on about highsec, where they are the ones that directly profit from it's existence. Highsec ganking is the ultimate "kitty-online" style of play, and in my opinion it's lack of risk vs reward doesn't match EvE's creed.

That being said, if people didn't fly things that had cargo/fitting worth more than the cost to gank, then they wouldn't be viable targets. The fact that these guys can gank day in, day out and still make a profit, only proves that there are still lots of targets out there more than happy to auto-pilot their expensive cargo's to their doom.

And i completely agree with the lack of consequences, even if CCP tried to make out that it would be the case with the bounty system. Sure, it works now, and can't be abused. But the fact that everyone can be bountied makes it completely worthless. In my opinion, it should be those with low security status, those that flaunt the law of the empires, that should face the potential consequences.

But then, you're just giving gankers a little bit more isk when they're concorded. Shocked

Post with your main, like a BOSS!

And no, i don't live in highsec.  As if that would make your opinion any less wrong.

If i could opt out of CONCORD in highsec,
without having to be -10 for that ...

... that'd be great.

This thread is a gold mine for additional ganking targets and for tear harvesting.

Gankers are servants of the public in New Eden, culling the low hanging fruit like the OP and that is indeed WAI.

Carry on.

I couldn't be bothered to play the game because hi sec is supposed to be safe and I lost my ship not playing the game so it is everyone's fault but my own.

Because something happened to me once, it is completely out of control.

Who would gank a fleet ship? A fleet of gank ships, thats who.

OP: People should have to pay a billion to kill me.

OP Later: I'm rich from wormholes, billions mean nothing to me.

TEST? You guys still exist? I dont much pay attention to null-bears, all you are to me are ship scan results on my tackle boat's combat probes...And a few seconds later, a cloud of wreckage.

Oh look, someone who brags about killing AFK ratters in nullsec cries about getting killed AFK autopiloting in highsec. I don't think I can tank that much irony.

I have this A-type Irony Hardener I can sell you, I'll just put it in a shuttle and AFK autopilot it over to you.

I think not, it's worth 50 jillion trillion ISK so if you don't use 7000 titans to kill my shuttle then you're basically cheating and breaking the law and a criminal and will go to prison with large sexually adventurous men who don't take no for an answer.

Found your problems.

Navy EANMs are 75 mil a pop. With the [relatively] small tank on an ECM-Tengu it would theoretically be profitable. Auto-piloting would not help as people would be able to easily scout you ahead of time.

if a 75 m mod gets you ganked and is considered an expensive mod then the gankers must be really poor and to be so poor in Eve means you fail at the game.

If everyone followed that advice there would only be t1 fitted frigs and the economy would shut down completely from lack of supply since haulers wouldn't take their goods to the trade hubs.

Agree with your sentiment but isk=ships, ships = blow things up or get blown ( wait that sounds weird oh well); <= fun, therefore isk = fun... More isk, more fun :)

Sitting on billions and not using it on ships and things would be not fun. You can't Scrooge McDuck space dollars...

You had two 80 mil mods.

You also had the potential to stop up to six of their ships if you were not AFK and would have survived.

Right... with ISK you buy ships you have fun with and as long as you make more money than you lose while killing other ships you can keep having fun, but you do not need to amass billions of ISK in order to do so.

edit to make clear what the point is:

A person who has enough ISK to enjoy the game can hardly be a person who fails at eve, no matter if you define 75 million as a lot of money or not, the deciding factor here is having fun, not having ISK sitting in your wallet you never use. And as long as the ganks stay profitable for that person, he can keep replacing ships over and over again without having billions in his wallet and so he can keep having fun.
