Play EvE how you want to play it and do not let others dictate how you play. Evolve your playstyle to protect yourself from others! Even in "PVE", "PVP" is there, lurking in the shadows.

No. It doesn't work that way. People put money on your head because they want you to lose something. And that's rarely only the monetary loss those people are interested in.

Even so there is a problem here. How about non linear penalties to sec status for repeated criminal offenses in highsec in a certain time window?

Stopped reading the OP after I saw "auto piloting".

Then it's quite simply your own fault, idiot. (seriously, what kind of complacent imbecile auto pilots in a T3? And why does that mechanic even exist anymore?)

Oh, and profit or not, I'd have done it just for all the tears you've poured out and for a tengu killmail. Not like cats are expensive, the killmail alone would have been worth it for me, but having you go on the "I don't even care!" poutyface spiel about it is just icing on the cake.

Make it cost something to gank. I propose rework of bounty and kill right mechanic:

Want to suicide gank? Pay to shoot. Pay to concord to activate a temporary kill right on your victim, with price determined by value of the victim. And heres the kicker - victim determines his value by paying to concord his own bounty.

So lets say I want to avoid getting ganked, I think Im not worth more then a bil, so I pay to concord my value, 1bn. That expires, like insurance, by the way. Call it suicide insurance, can tie it to clone value.

Anyhow, ganker wants to gank me, he has to now pay to concord a proportion of that value tied to value of my ship or something, and then he can get a kill right on me. Otherwise, cant shoot me in high sec.

This forces gankers to PAY. Ends rampant non-targeted ganking, AND solves isk inflation.


Guess who I'm going to gank tomorrow.

[x] Got ganked while AFK piloting.
[x] Believes they have an entitlement against such things.
[x] Not bothered about the ship, but still pissed about it after 2 weeks.
[x] No proof it actually happened.
[x] Used the old recycling chars argument, again without proof.
[ ] Is a hardcore WH dweller.

So even though suicide ganking is at an all time low, the self entitled new crowd are still on the whine. Good to know.

Where are the numbers that shows that suiciding is at an all-time low?

I don't know about all of new eden, but around my parts (Molden Heath) it still seems fairly rife.

Why should you be immune to ganking just because your ship was a fleet fit?

One could almost get the impressions that it is just an alt of a certain person.... I guess you know who i mean ;)....


If ccp nerfs suicide ganking again at some point i hope they will nerf it by removing the autopilot. I am sure this would reduce the number of autopiloting victims by roughly 100% ;).

Solution: Stop flying bling bling ships in Empire or accept they are at risk

Your solution fixes nothing. The real solution is for the pilot to understand the risk and plan accordingly.

You're a wormhole dweller, you're meant to be better than this, you used autopilot, you paid the price for doing so. Go back to your wormhole and HTFU.

Tengus of any flavour have been valid targets for ganking ever since they came out, they're generally fitted with some bling and ganking them gets reactions like your original post.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.
