Why is the Machariel so cheap?

The price has dropped from 1.5 bill at one point to barely 8 hundred mill. No one i ask seems to have a great answer for it.
After browsing the forum i didn't notice a topic, Any have any info or suggestions?

And... will it bounce back?

It's actually probably the marauder changes, as suggested in the similar nightmare thread.

makes the most sense from my uninformed perspective

Machariels have been dropping for months, there was that tracking enhancer nerf and dev posts talking about nerfing the Cynabal and Machariel.

Machariels had gone up to 1.5b on speculation only. VV and others spread the rumor that after the heavy missile (read: tengu) nerf 2 expansion ago, Machs would be mission kings. There were many forum threads about this, and a lot of people speculated. Machs were just under 1b each at that stage iirc. A lot of other people made a lot of money, and after the patch Machs tumbled, and have continued to.

It was not just a rumor. I have all sorts of missioning ships from simple "Baby-Varg" fitted Maelstrom to Vargurs and Machs. With various setups, usually partly faction and partly deadspace fitted. Machs made the other ships pale in comparison.

It was just consequential that they'd rise in price.
