Need some advice from solo Pilgrim pilots

I need some advice on the last mid slot thats free to vary.

At the moment i have three choices and all of them seem to be effective

1. Tracking disruptor.

A second tracking disruptor is always good against turret ships and effectly ruins any chance a gallent pilot has of fighting back. And with script changes you can beat a minmatar/amarr pilot. The downside is that if you fight a missile boat you have wasted two mid slots

2. Omnidirectional tracking link
More DPS is always a good thing, but can hamper the ability to fight capless minmater.

3. Cap booster
Always a good thing but is not viable when facing buffer fit ships/ capless guns/missiles
Will always be limited to high/lowsec as deep nullsec incursions cannot be made with a reliance on limited cap.

Thanks for your advice

since when does omnidirectional track link give out more dps?

it gives optimal range and tracking and are completely unneeded to apply dmg since the major dmg mitigation for drones are turret sig res (for ex med drones have a hard time hitting frigs). besides , for drone ships , there is no current way to boost dps from drones exept from ship bonuses and rigs (for sentries only) , and ofc using the appropriate drones to hit a resist hole.

now back to topic: i am a solo pilgrim pilot (or like to be :p) and on my fit i use NOS+2 neuts , web+scram+2xTD+AB and a med rep + appropriate tank , and here's why:

-one TD optimal range scripted can bring down a barrage 425mm cane's effective range down to 7k whereas with 2 scripted TDs , that range goes down to 3k

-also , with double TD , you can engage multiple turret ships. (on the test server , i managed to engage a nightmare +rapier , killed 2 times the rapier , and brought down the nightmare down to hull before they popped me xD)

-i use a NOS and if your enemy have more cap than you (cap booster) , he will essentially help you keep your cap alive ;)
and nos doesnt use charges! and if you fit your ship appropriately and have damn good ksills in energy management , one nos can help you perma run one med rep , AB and all of your ewar mods and pulse run one neut!

-and also for tanking missile ships , as long as they dont have a web or TP, and you have an AB and a med rep , and you can tank them (honestly!!) (dont be afraid to overload the AB , it takes a LOONG time to burn , even with thermodynamics IV)

Thanks for the reply and nice to see another solo pilgrim pilot in space.

Before i begin id like to say that my other ship is a nightmare and its all about the tracking. normal hits being turned into well aimed and excellent hits so im always looking at it.

The omni increases DPS by increasing the frequency of better classes of hits. I normally use hammers for exploraton and with an Omni i dont have any problems hitting frigates for full amounts.

The two TD option is a good one and i addressed it in my early post. Minmater ships are easily beatable with two but very hard work with one,.

Im still playing about with my highs as im experimenting with 2 medium and 1 small Neut. this way you cap out the target and just leave the small running. This may only be suitable for smaller ships. With a battleship using 800s a nos may be the way to go.

Thanks again

Pilgrims are meant to be solo'ed most of the time. And you will be in enemy territory. Bearing that in mind, you will need a web, tackle, mwd as essentials. Now td is awesome when you are fighting turret ships. And you will need a cap booster for pvp always.

The reason being, as a pilgrim, 90% of the time your targets will be solo anom runners in turret ships. You can take ur time, choose the targets and engage whenever you want to. Its seductive. The only downside being you don't have much of a tank. So killing them fast is essential. (either before his buddies come for help or he can escape your point)

So you will have to keep neuting him (good vs smaller ships) or you should be td'ing him (bigger stuff). And running out of cap when your enemy is about to die will be terribad. A nos will work only against bigger ones, and when u fit medium nets, u can fit only a small nos, which will not be enough to keep your neuts+td+web+point running and you need med nets to cap them out quick.

tl;dr - use a cap booster and forget the omni.

excuse me, but you actually can fit a med NOS AND 2 med neuts (not t2 tho) and a med AB , and a med repper!
you only have to play on your rigs ^^

my fit (that actually tnaks solo drakes without TP or web):

[Pilgrim, pilgrim]
Damage Control II
Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II
Energized Thermic Membrane II
Medium Armor Repairer II
1600mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I

works wonders! and has about 30k ehp , can sustain ewar mods + ab +one neut and pulse repper , if enemy is a larger ship with cap booster, if not can sustain , ewar mods +ab+one neut for 44minutes according to eft (without the nos)!

dont be fooled about the semi conductor , helps a lot more than egress , or CCC rigs
