Suicide ganking with destroyers is only in vogue because of the removal of the 50% turret cycle duration penalty. There was nothing stopping somebody from suicide ganking a fleet ship several years ago because suicide ganking is more expensive than it used to be with the removal of insurance payouts for losses to CONCORD.

Thats a buffer tank. A passive tank is one that regens without the use of local or external reppers and is only possible with sheilds.

Also I'm willing to bet this is a troll thread. I can't find a single Tengu ganked in hisec with ECM mods or even the ECM subsystem within the last 3 days.

Right now theres no consequences to suicide ganking. Let me correct this, there no MEANINGFUL consequences. Security status? Please, so easy to work around it. Cost of ships? 2mil per destroyer is not a cost. Brutix hull? Pff.

Solution.

Make it cost something to gank. I propose rework of bounty and kill right mechanic:

Want to suicide gank? Pay to shoot. Pay to concord to activate a temporary kill right on your victim, with price determined by value of the victim. And heres the kicker - victim determines his value by paying to concord his own bounty.

So lets say I want to avoid getting ganked, I think Im not worth more then a bil, so I pay to concord my value, 1bn. That expires, like insurance, by the way. Call it suicide insurance, can tie it to clone value.

Anyhow, ganker wants to gank me, he has to now pay to concord a proportion of that value tied to value of my ship or something, and then he can get a kill right on me. Otherwise, cant shoot me in high sec.

This forces gankers to PAY. Ends rampant non-targeted ganking, AND solves isk inflation.



I'm high out of my mind and even I think that's a ******* ******** idea.

No I did in fact lose an ecm tengu, was like 10 days ago I think.

Im pissed for 2 reasons:

1) my tengu had a cool name and it SHOULDNT have exploded with that name
2) its a fleet ship. Why the hell gank a fleet ship??? Thats just stupid. Its like ganking any odd random falcon you see pass by. Same mods drop. I mean ok, gankers got away with 2-3 tech 2 missle launchers, couple of umbra ecm mods, cheap ass nano plate... grats? No ship scan anymore? See tengu, mash F1 button much, dollar signs in eyes?

Thats scrapping bottom of barrel.

The fact that you'll apparently remain enraged about it for in excess of two weeks is, all by itself, plenty of reason to suicide gank you regardless of what you're flying.

CCP frowns upon recycling characters to evade the effects of a low security status and it's only right for you to report it if they are recycled. Everyone else has to grind up sec status, tag up or deal with the hassles involved in ganking with outlaw status.
