I like how you respond to my musing on Star Citizen. I should do it more.

Anyways... You forget even Ultima Online was number one MMO one day. But now look at it. Are you arguing with what I said that CCP doesn't constantly try to improve the game by changing it?

I mean they do and its the only thing that keeps the game alive. Its smart to do.

I mean hell. Its smart to create Valkyrie to compete with Occulus Rift ready products like Star Citizen.

Its what I would do in their shoes. I mean technically it was smart to release a console game (however it was not smart to release on a system with less than 12 months of life span due to a new generation of consoles).

Riddle me this... If CCP stopped development today? Would they have the same subscription numbers in five years from today?

Seriously.

What's annoying about you is that you is that for some reason you add tings to what people are saying that wasn't said. Who said anything about stopping development? EVE is an evolving product.

What I was replying to was your (usual) ridiculous and without merit assertions about CCP not being able to add enough content to keep people playing. They've done it so far, mainly by delivering what a sandbox game needs, TOOLS, so people can make content.

you arne't representative of EVE players in general, you are representative of you and only you. For some reason, it doesn't seem like you can keep that clear in your head. We get it, you're tired of EVE (you used the word "stale") and for some reason think that SC is going to be your magical ticket away from this terrible game lol. I think we both hope to see that happen, for ...different reasons..

To be fair, we won't be able to have these polite discussions on Star Citizen forums so I will miss that. They are less tolerate of belligerent people and trolls. (Pick one)

Of course I am not representative of anyone other than myelf and so are you. Other than the people who have similiar interests.

I'm just saying you implied the things you said when you accused me of the things I said so I said the things I said. Does that make sense? Most likely not. I am just infering from your implications of what you said earlier that you implied that EVE is not improving. I don't know at this point.

It is yet to be seen that CCP can add enough content to keep everyone happy. Its just I personally feel its not enough when there are so many game changing things that will happen to the industry in 2014. And I'm not talking about Star Citizen.

PS I'm sorry that I annoy you.

PSS I'll let everyone know by next Thursday if this hunch is right.

Looking to talk on VOIP with other EVE players? Are you new and need help with EVE (welfare) or looking for advice? Looking for adversarial debate with angry people?

If thousands of people who were also newbs once learned the game and yet you cannot, what does that make you?

This. Pirate

Edit: Seriously though, back in like 2008, the learning curve was insane, you got 1 mission - shoot the frigate rat, that was it. Today corps provide lessons, tutorial videos, skill training plans...ect. CCP tutorial help is a help as well. So, idk what else to say.

How apt that, in a thread about a newbie getting ganked, I find the guy who first ganked me when I was a n00b.

@Marexlovox... My name is Novenas Heresy. You killed my clone. Prepare to die.

... one day... when you least expect it...

Heh.

Didn't realize that you could play Star Citizen yet. Aside from Captain's Hangar.

They have four different versions, just like CCP, right?

Geeze, Star Citizen is just ripping off EVE.

You can even customize your ship?

GODDAMN THEM! THEY ARE COPYING CCP!

On a side note, this thread has inspired me to find active miners and shoot fireworks at them, hoping for some bigger fireworks than from my festival launchers :D

It happened to me whe i started playing 9 years ago and it actually was and still is the only reason i continued playing this game.

The only game that can RRRRRRRRReally get under your skin , gotta love it .

The only times I consider leaving, is when whine-bears try to take over and change the game to their playstyle. And even more if CCP helps them by dumbing down the game, luckily CCP hardly does it and if they do its something minor.

Sigh, another one of these threads....I got PvP'ed and killed a few weeks into EVE while ratting in Low Sec, did it put me off, hell NO!, even though I lost a good portion of my ISK and stuffz. Learned a lesson, don't go into the more dangerous places unless you are ready. Stuck to high sec, got chatting to some guys in local who were offering advice to n00bs, joined up with them (ex 0.0's who were resting in High Sec after Bob kicked them outta Null Sec - this was in 2007) learnt a ton load about EVE. Participated in my 1st High Sec war dec, got my 1st kill (an Ishtar in my Thorax - the Ishtar pilot was a numpty), still remember the rush from PvP'ing, hands shaking afterwards, total adrenaline overload.

Guess what I am saying is that EVE rewards co-operative play and when you are a newer player don't try and go it alone.

Oh and if you don't like how EVE is, F*^k off to WoW.

Well it is unfortunate fact that this game is complex and nothing like those simpler games that have millions of players.

But that challenge of learning to play this game is what brought us here in first place. We don't want it easy, we didint come here for easy. We all here because this is different.

EvE online is standing by its own merits. Its only MMO that has shown constant growth of payer base over 10 years, every year. It has show other game companies how player runs economies should work. It has show us all whats possible.

Any other game cant have fight with thousands of players withing over the control of system, or just show up in feeding frenzy to kill that poor titan that jumped instead of bridging.

All this means its difficult to master and very difficult on start to get yourself going. Buts its worth it. Trust me its worth it so much. No instant gratification, but great rewards await to those that are willing to work for it and have patience to keep going...

Personally started playing this game in 2008. My wife see this featured in television document about virtual worlds... She tough it looked like complex game with sci-fi theme, so i gave it a try... Two days later im subscribed and addicted to this game. Thinking... Why the heck are not all MMO's this challenging, this makes you feel like you really are archiving something..
