Been away for a few months... Dafuq happened

Hi all,

Due to some situations I had a leave of a few months from eve.
Now I'm back and I can't believe what I'm seeing:

Arrow Megacyte. excuse me? did I miss something? is all of nullsec one big happy mining carebear family? did macks become invincible? ABC in hisec? I don't get it.
Arrow Moongoo. Rebalance? equalization? whatever it is, that Thulium guy finally saw his wish granted (check forum history to know what I'm talking about)
Arrow MD forum. where are the Akita's, bad bobbies and the rest? no more vague threads analyzing the influx of damsel prices in Goins?
Arrow Jita local. Dafuq
ArrowLots and Lots more.

in other words, does anyone mind giving me a brief history of the last few months of eve?

Let's see:

- CCP has been spawning rare ships for "community engagements", a large portion of those ships going to employees of a certain third party site.
- CCP had the awesome idea of respawning the Gold Magnate, to be given away to people gambling on a certain third party site.
- Once that event was running, CCP withdrew the Gold Magnate prize and promised to spawn unique ships instead (proceeds still going to that certain third party site).
- CCP cracked down hard on people offering ISK rewards for buying GTCs through a referral link, as this is an EULA violation. They only figured out it was violating the EULA after lots of people started copying a certain third party site which has been allowed to do this publicly for years.

Tiericide and the corresponding period of increased demand is over, and (thanks to the oversupply of underpriced ships) has been replaced with a period of reduced demand.

Advanced material usage in T2 components was tweaked and four new racial advanced materials were introduced, each using one R64. The net effect was that Technetium was nerfed, all R64s were buffed to be roughly equal in usage. Prices have slowly adjusted as a result.

Awesome, thanks for filling the blanks for me.
Especially your Tiericide explanation cleared some things up. it just really freaked me out, I've never seen mega this low.

As for the goo, this seems like a solid move. when tech was introduced, I truly believe this is what they had in mind, however poorly executed it was. so basically now we have 4 racial technetiums (or Technetia) (to state it boldly) am I correct?

as for Stillman, he's my new hero.

However I must say, few months ago 9 out of 10 threads were either A) Psuedo-scientific reports on what would be happening over the next 5 years, if only A would lead to B and C and B) elaborate IPO's, Bonds, Funds and even Banks that were all trying to justify having no collateral in the most convincing ways. it actually gave me the idea people knew what they were talking about, catch my drift Lol
when I look at the forums now, it kinda feels like a erhm... well... computergame with a market function... No hard feelings there, but just scroll back a few months to see what I'm talking about. surely you guys must still be out there, in some backdoor smoking lounge, plotting the course of the coming 5 years if A, B and C were to happen... Blink

As I've also been away for ca. 2 years, I also noticed Akita T missing, but I've seen more than one post from BB here since I resub'ed in August. There are still a lot "MD inventory"ers around (see flakeys above i.e.).
