Get a 2nd opinion. It could be something simple like bad ram.

try this one Super anti spyware first time I heard about it was 3 years ago and i thought it was a scam since the name sounds well not so pro P

But it actually is decent enough Smile

If you meet the prerequisites you could go try microsofts own security essentials i run it at my machine at home and its very competent. When i get my payraise i may even donate some to microsoft for a product that works.

Malwarebytes is another good Malware program. It's free. Anyway, did you visit RMT sites, you know, where you can buy isk and so on with real life money? I can see how you would get a virus that infects EVE if you visited those types of sites. Some of the ISK and things sold on those types of sites are through stolen accounts, which can be done by implanting viruses and malware into one's computer. Hope you get the issues solved.

your "expert" most likely is a snake-oil salesman and you are getting trolled hard in this thread.

"this virus is even stronger this time" makes absolutely no ******* sense. It's the sort of statement one might use to impress people who have no idea what you are talking about ("a flu infection can be bad or not so bad... also the flu virus can mutate to become really strong. surely computers work the same way because a virus is a virus after all").

(that being said the IGB does suffer from some known vulnerabilities as it is hasn't been patched in years; yet I still consider it rather unlikely that you got infected that way:

The IGB is equivalent to Chrome 3, "real" Chrome auto-updates without the user even noticing and the current version is Chrome 31. The number of users running 4-year-old Chrome 3 (having explicitly turned off auto-updates to do so) has to be very low, certainly too low to justify the development of malware targeting it. You would have to have stumbled across a piece of malware that is several years old.

However, AV software is known to flag the IGB as a security risk, so maybe that's where the "it's because of EVE" statement comes from).

I run spybot search and destroy.

Even if I dont have a virus I run it once a month. Some virus software may pick up files it doesnt understand in the eve context folder and may says its spam.

However I have been slightly worried my pc camera seems to go on everytime I use the shower. Im guessing thats just Falcon Lol

Quoting "you will die" in EvE is fail Chars dont die in EvE. Unless you have a heart attack eek.

To be clear, if that guy really told you what you told us, then you should demand your money back and never call him again, or maybe sue him for fraud.

Go to a librabry and read the windows manual and soon your You'll know 10 times more about computers than that guy.

EDIT: That last part was not an insult btw. I just wrote that to clarify the incredible amount of incompetence and/or lies that "computer guy" piled on you.

Confirming the same computer virus comes back stronger than ever after a month.

Yup, they do that. feed on the dark side of the internet, mutate, get stronger. Rip heads of etc.

Jeez, the troll is hard with this one.

Stop going to your friend. He's charging you out the yin-yang for repairs to what might be a simple problem.

How old is the computer? Maybe the HD is going bad (mine is on 7 years and fixing to die).
Have you run Malware-Bytes in safemode?
Do you have a decent Anti-Virus (not AVG or MSE)?
Maybe it might be the RAM. Try Memtest.
Are you using a browser out of game and do you have an ad-blocker on it?

Computer problems defined as "freezing for 30 minutes" and "has a virus" makes it more complex. There are so many things that the end-user can do to fix their computer before taking it in for repairs.

Without more information and details (like a hijackthis log), there is no way anyone can help you without blindly shooting in the dark.

It will also make your TV turn on for no apparent reason, your Roomba start chasing you around the room, your microwave will project deadly radiation at you, and all the locks in your house will inevitably lock and jam. There is no turning back!

He lied to you.

NO ONE can tell you from WHERE you got a virus unless that one is a software that was scannign your system when it hapened. Things that are not logged cannot be backrtacked.

That guy LIED to you, he probably has no clue and charged you for a service that was not made. He made you a fool.

I do a bit of PC work for people, nothing major just trouble shooting. Sometimes you can make an educated guess where something came from just by looking at thier history. as far as the igb is concerned, you should use it like IE, if you dont have to don't.

Most people who have a pc have no idea what they are doing, and probably shouldn't have one . Stupidly easy to catch yourself a virus depending on browsing and software habits.

As far as what the guy said, well you ever talked to someone about something they didnt understand? you try to explain it to them. Thats what that sounds like to me.
