How naive or just plain dumb can be a player to join a game like EVE or any other full loot oriented PVP game and still cry when they lose stuff?

It's the normal things in these games. The only way for a PVEr to win is to outsmart a PVPer and i'm sure that playing like a wow gnome in hisec isn't the way to go.

Gnomes here are impaled and toasted in front of their kids. And that's the beauty if it.

**** Gnomes.

Remiel Eve community never changes that's why Helyean needs to look past the aggression of the Eve online community and after 4 years of him not playing Eve online, it was still the same game and will never change in my opinion, no matter what expansion CCP develop, so he needs to move on, just like I did, this game will never be a casual game nor a MMO.

You say the community never changes like that's a bad thing.

And not an MMO? You do know what MMO stands for, right?

I read all 9 pages of this thread. As a reward, you should each send me a PLEX (especially the wealthy individual who resubscribed just to post in this thread). If you don't, it can only mean you are self-centered meanies!!!

PLEX me sweetly, quickly and obediently! Blink *snaps naughty naughty whip!*

Agreed but he did get my attention and I would like to bring him some peace, so that he can move on.

And I'm still laughing at you, as you think that he will actually read the crap you are posting.

He left about 6 pages before you even resubbed to talk to someone who rage quitted.

5/10

White knight offers help to OP on page 6, tries to act cool but gets laughed at for the remaining 2 pages

5/10 -> 7/10 (2 bonus points)

Final score:
7/10 good OP troll
2/10 for entertainment value, the white knight killed it in the end

Average score: 4.5/10 would not read again

Interesting 3 recent loss mails.

Raven Navy issue, in lowsec. Hard to complain about that one. you're warned when you enter low sec that you're at risk of people violencing your ship.

Retriever in 0.5: No tank fitted in any way shape or form. Hard to feel sorry for that.

Navy Drake in highsec: This is an interesting one. From the circumstance, it looks like a ninja looter got attacked. As I'm not seeing Concord on the loss (Fireworks don't create engagements. Retaliation invokes Concord) they were a legal target. Not a gank, as you don't gank with 220mm Vulcans. Not for 30k of damage.

Can't really feel bad about this. Especially not the Raven loss, which is the main source of that list of people.

Woo! CSM XI!

Just like I said, I quit in 2009 because of how the games learning curve was completely unfriendly to new people. Yeah it’s a great game I thoroughly enjoy every aspect of it. what i do not enjoy it how the only way that it offers a season MMO player who wants to enjoy just a small amount PVE play before I start any pvp, it’s not about me not understanding the mechanics, hell learning cookie cutter specs and how specific class work along with an open range of difference to learn, just so happens to be what I love about MMO’s. s

If you love to learn so much you should do just that.. EVE is all about learning.. if you knew the game you would not be getting harassed so much.
Best thing you can do in EVE is to join a good corp and then learn the game with them.

At least you have now learn't something about the forums.. don't come complaining, come asking for help, ie I keep getting ganked\bumped\whatever in this ship with this fit, pleas help me...

I don't know...

The real question is, can CCP create enough new content to keep the current subscribers without changing the game so much that it disturbs the status quo.

However, if they leave the game as it is, it will get stale and subscribers will quit.

So they constantly change the game making it one way or the other. Sometimes they make things like scanning easier and this rubs the old farts the wrong way. But they get over it most of the time.

The key problem is that it maybe impossible to keep old farts making new alt accounts so they most likely understand they do need new blood. Thats why they tried Dust and are making Valkyrie.

Despite your complaints on the forums CCP may make the game for a broader audience if people inevitably cancel their subs.

Personally, I don't think the current expansions add that much to the game... Well... Not enough to keep everyone playing.

Looking to talk on VOIP with other EVE players? Are you new and need help with EVE (welfare) or looking for advice? Looking for adversarial debate with angry people?

OP I think your analogy of a boy fending off a pack of wolves with a stick is pretty spot on. The problem lies in that you don't seem to like the thrill, and satisfaction you would get by being successful in that analogy. While the ones who do enjoy this game are the ones that think your analogy sounds like fun.

Hey Mang,

Great thread about the insensitivity of many players of Eve... I have been killed on occasion by peoples (Amarrian DOGS!) of that nature... thankfully I am a quick warpout and ables to save my many implants.

Adding OP to watchlist...

I'll say "Hi" if I see you in game. Big smile

Feel free to ignore the 10 year history of EVE that has seen 1 maybe 2 dips in subscription maintenance and even growth. And those came during scandals.

This suggests that the only way to truly kill EVE is for CCP to kill it, because "time/age", "lack of new players flocking to or staying with the game", and "new games coming out" have all failed to make a single dent in EVE, and I don't know of another similarly situated game anywhere.

If I were to make a guess, I'd say that you tend to think that other players are like you and either are or will in the future find the game becoming "stale" (that was the word you used, the truth is you're just waiting for Star citizen, which is why that name gets mentioned in damn near every post you make). So it leads you down the path of thinking things about CCP''s motives and EVE's situation that basically don't hold any water.

You know, fellow players, sometimes it might mean you have more people to pew pew with, later on down the road, and more people to join your blobs, or more people making your ships, or more people making the sandbox, all... sandy... if you weren't such unwelcoming bitter 'htfu' vets. *sigh*

I like how you respond to my musing on Star Citizen. I should do it more.

Anyways... You forget even Ultima Online was number one MMO one day. But now look at it. Are you arguing with what I said that CCP doesn't constantly try to improve the game by changing it?

I mean they do and its the only thing that keeps the game alive. Its smart to do.

I mean hell. Its smart to create Valkyrie to compete with Occulus Rift ready products like Star Citizen.

Its what I would do in their shoes. I mean technically it was smart to release a console game (however it was not smart to release on a system with less than 12 months of life span due to a new generation of consoles).

Riddle me this... If CCP stopped development today? Would they have the same subscription numbers in five years from today?

Seriously.
