Not much. It varies and I can't tell you how much exactly for the military but expect around 1% from each agent and you won't be disappointed. Do Level 1 Distribution and you will be much faster.

The boost from a Career agent isn't that great, unfortunately. When I was trying to up my standings on an alt, I figured they would be a good place to start. I was disappointed, even after running all six in one location. The gain:effort ratio was rather poor.

Kyzen Hunt is absolutely correct that running a series of Distribution missions will be much faster, and they will be easier and less tedious, too boot, especially if you can find multiple agents in a single station.

From my experience the career agents do give better results than lvl 1 distribution agents.

But in any case they are only really useful if your standing is below -2, as a -2 faction standing prevents you from running anything but level 1 missions. If your faction standing is better than -2, you are better off running lvl 2 & 3 distribution missions.

Turning in tags to faction data center agents is good for a standings boost. You don't gain a fixed number of standings points. You gain a percentage increase of the standings figure you already have. So it's good to train up the relevant Social category skill (I've forgotten which one it is) before turning in tags.

Before you accept a tags mission from a data center agent, check the market prices for them. The names don't have any relation to the market price. Copper tags can be 10x more expensive than platinum tags, etc. Some are pretty expensive to buy.

Yes it's true that low level Event Agents don't give a large percentage in standing but when your Faction standing is negative it actually equals out to a rather large increase.

As Khergit Deserters said, it's not an actual amount that's gained, it's a percentage increase of the amount you have left to get to +10.00 standing.

For the best results when working on repairing negative standings first train up the various social skills :

Diplomacy skill will decrease your current negative standing.
Social skill will increase the amount of standing gained for completing agent missions.
Connections skill will increase your current positive standing.

Contrary to what some of the others have posted, I wouldn't advise doing Distribution missions at this time in an attempt to increase your Faction standing. You'll have to complete 16 regular missions just to get offered 1 storyline mission for Faction standing increase. Also there's a chance that the storyline mission may be an encounter mission against one of the other Empire Factions. Basically you'll either have to decline it or if you do complete it, you'll just reverse your situation from that Faction to another Faction.

All of the Event Agents listed in the 'Faction Standing Repair Plan' give Faction standing increase. If you follow the basic steps outlined in 'The Plan' then you should be able to gain positive Faction standing quickly and easily.

The thing to remember about 'The Plan' is it's exactly that, a plan. Thus you can always modify / customize it to fit your particular situation, IE, only work specific Event Agents pertaining to your situation. That doesn't mean jump on the higher level agents first. As I said earlier, when you have negative standings the increase gained from the low level agents will seem rather large. Also these agents can only be completed once in the life of your character so it's best to keep the higher agents in reserve until actually needed.

Right now training up the Diplomacy skill will easily repair your negative Amarr standing. If you continue to accept Anti-Empire encounter missions and or destroy Faction NPC ships, eventually Diplomacy skill won't help and you'll have to work the Event Agents if you want access to the 'Unfriendly' Empire Factions.

I hope this helps and good luck to you.

The career mission standing bonus comes with a drawback to the opposite faction?

Yes, when you gain standing with one Faction, you also gain a little bit of standing with it's ally and due to that you also lose standing with their enemies.

The only exception to that rule is the Epic Arc's. However, those arc's do include a few missions that will incur negative Faction standing hits for Aggression / Ship kill. That amount is rather small when compared to the amount of standing gained for completing those Epic Arcs.
