I truly love this.

Genius of the highest order.

I should add this.

Hardly.

That's a film of disguised homo-erotic fantasies inflicted on the public by Ridley Scott's brother, so those of us in the 'rainbow coalition' can make fun of straight boys for liking it all so much. Lol

Part 1 of 4

I still think it is the best "movie" ever.

Part two

Part three

Part four

As a challenge - find me one film that has spawned so many catchphrases!

If you didn't feel it then I feel for you. Don't take it out on my thread though! What?

But the film is a punchline:

even in other films !

I won't argue that it's a fun and silly watch, but a great film it is not.

Genius quote. I need some time to recover. Big smile

I take it that someone making a film more popular than his was offensive?

Let us see where many comments have worked their way into popular culture.....

Its actually a terrible film. The use of F-5s (an american product) posing as MiGs ruined it for me. Along with Mavericks asshattery.

That had a reason to be, as F-5s equipped the "agressor" squadrons used in actual training. And of course, actual Migs used to be a tad difficult to obtain as film props...

Too bad the film was not made a few years later, after the fall of the soviet union. The Russians were basically renting out fighters for demos around the world for extra money. We could have some authentic MiG-29 or Su-27 in the film if that happend.

I never said it was accurate - damn if you watch the links I posted you will see how inccurate they are.

I still fancy Kelly even though it has gone wrong. What a bird.

Going by that recent picture.......he still thinks they are filming the last 30 minutes of "The Doors" or something Lol Definitely following in Jim Morrison's footsteps there.

Dude has a starring production list of films and TV shows after 1995 that is about a yard long in print.....and I have absolutely not seen any of them at all. Not one. I had thought he quit or something.

Tell the truth now. You know that was a weak argument.

You love Top Gun as much as the next man.

Maybe it's a cursed production !! Shocked

Tom Cruise started going wacky with a Cult.............

Val Kilmer's career went into quiet mediocrity while he physically inflated......

Kelly McGillis flipped polarities on you guys..........

The director Tony Scott sadly jumped off a bridge last year.......

Yipes !

Argument ? About Top Gun? All of the above quotage is about Val Kilmer and not your movie.

Go home. You are drunk.

That, and the fact that the F-14s were dogfighting at close range ike WWI triplanes, instead of radar targeting at 30 miles away or whatever. But I do understand that long range target locks, ECM, ECCM don't sell many tickets.

Cheers for your input. I don't see how any of it is relevant.

I do love Kilmers input, if you watch the documentary it explains each persons input to the film. I still love it and even having seen how it was made detracts not at all.

Top Gun is still one of my favourite films ever.
