Please make drones more optimal.

1. You should be able to set the drone AI to automatically target from nearest threat to the farthest. Or vise/versa.
Example: You are swarmed with 12 small ships within 2 KM. You released drones and they immediately fly after a target 60 KM away.

There is no excuse for not having such a function. Other than to purposely frustrate and annoy me.

2. Sentry drones should automatically choose the most optimal target when not given a specific command.
Example: You have a short range fighter within 2 KM of you and 20 ships within 50 KM of you. Your Sentry drones optimal range is 50 KM. Guess which one they target...

3. Even though the drones are on aggressive and have already attacked. They often go AFK. Also does that sometimes when it's swarming with close range ships.
Number 3 i'm not so concerned about though.


Why is there no excuse? Because I can not believe in a future where they have such lovely hardware and yet so terrible programmers.



Sure you might disagree and not plan on changing this. But at least I made my voice heard.

Should I also be able to have my guns automatically target and shoot things?

Why should one weapon system be automated to the point of AFKing a mission and not others?

1: Good idea.

2: No experience of sentry drones, can't comment

3: I notice little to no difference between agressive and passive. I end up ordering the drones to attack manually each and every target, just to make sure they're not herping it.
This needs to be fixed.

2. drones have been broken forever
3. iirc its already been announced CCP is working on revamping the drone interface

Geeze dude you probably aren't aware but back in the day the Gallente had way better drones.

They kind of went Rogue, and have been a problem ever since. The Russians developed a Rogue Drone fetish, and are waging war on NC. right now so they can have their Rogue Drone lovin' again.

Err no not really, it was quite correct. what you are saying is that drones, a weapon system, should automatically move through targets and fire. Other weapon systems don't (forget auto-targeting/defender missiles) so why should drones? As has already been said anyway, there are far more complex underlying coding issues other than 'just update drone AI/UI'.

Except that drones are limited AI controlled otherwise you´d have to fly them yourself guns are not. Auto-targeting missiles by the way target the closest enemy target as far as I know so there is no reason why drones should not to be able to do so. Same goes for defenders.

Other than that yes it is a different thing like you and a chimpanzee both are mammals but we´d both agree that there is a difference don´t you think. So he stands correct that it was the wrong comparison unless you have no problem being called a chimp instead of a human.

Besides getting all butthurt because he rebuked your alt is also childish.

It is too hard to lock your target and trigger your drones to attack it.

Locking targets is an outdated mechanic.

Firing at specific targets is an outdated mechanic.

Make the game do that for us. Now. There is literally no time to waste.

Do TDs affect drones? If so, nerf them too.
