I'm cynical of 'rebalancing' - it's a cheap way of giving the appearance of improving the game on a tight budget.

I think CCP should go back to their old strategy of producing real content (like T3 ships and wormholes) rather than fiddle around with ship stats.

Breaking ships like the Vagabond is 'change', but it's not real improvement.

Your crazy....

The ship rebalance CCP has performed has revolutionized this game. Yes, your old favorite ships are no longer the overpowering pwnmachines they used to be, but now there is a whole lotta other ships that are viable and interesting within the PvP environment.

As for "real content". Do you understand what a sandbox is? Content is generated by PLAYERS, much, much moreso than CCP. CCP's job is to create tools for US to create content. Tools like warp disruption bubbles, mobile cyno jammers, mobile refitting bases, etc. Game mechanic changes like Crimewatch 2.0, warp speed changes, and the like, as well as ship changes (aka rebalances) are also extremely important to maintain a certain heterogeneity within the game, that allows for new tactics & strategies and new in-game activiites.

Jesus features like WH's are great when CCP can pull it off, but there are only so many miracles one company can perform. To be frank, when these Jesus features fail (WiS), it is very, very hard on the game.

Rather than whining, how about you come up with some ideas that would help you create content.

Very very True. plus ship balancing ain't no picnic

Plus I wish people would stop saying this expansion isn't an expansion etc. The things I am always amazed at with Rubicon are:

A way of giving hi-sec "territory" and objectives HUGE

A rewrite of the systems and code needed for potential poses later leading to deployable interesting structures HUGE

rebalancing of ships which means painstakingly balancing almost 20 different parameters in a database, where if even 1 is out of proportion with 1 of several thousand other stats of other ships means the ship is broken. HUGE

Warp acceleration changes allowing different distances to give texture and terrain to space HUGE

All of the things above I am salivating over because the game is getting so mch more added to the sandbox. To me ALL missions/complexes/incursions are 1 piece of content. some alliances have thousands of pieces of content.

Go and find them.

If you've never tried PvP in EvE it's quite possible you've missed out on one of the greatest rushes available in modern gaming.

on the vagabond, from the linked article...

Quote:
When CCP made warp scramblers knock out microwarpdrives, Vagabond pilots adapted with dual propulsion module fits that use a microwarpdrive to approach the target and an afterburner to orbit.

I'm pretty sure no Vagabond pilot actually did this. People that went dual prop went for Fleet Stabbers.

"**CCP is changing policy, and has asked that we discontinue the bonus credit program after November 7th. So until then, enjoy a super-bonus of 1B Blink Credit for each 60-day GTC you buy!"**

Never forget.

The XL ASB dual prop scram Vagabond was popular among solo PvP'ers before the HAC rebalance. The rebalance really solidified this position for the Vaga, making it an even more effective solo boat.

Dual Prop SFI's were popular in FW zones do to the price and t1-cruiser designation for entering complexes. SFI's do not enjoy the damage projection nor resist profile of Vaga's, not to mention dual prop SFI's are generally armor tanked with significantly lower speed.

The nerf to kiting Vagabond gangs happened with tier 3 (I mean attack) battlecruisers. Talos & Tornado's were a little slower, but packed more dps with similar damage projection. This didn't completely eliminate the Vagabond's niche, but it certainly reduced it's popularity.
