POS Gun Question

How do POS batteries cycle? Do they spread their targets or does the station focus everything on one target? I am specifically wondering about ECM batteries, will it try to jam everyone or will it put all ECM and overkill jam one person?

Also, I know batteries have a very long target delay, do they have to re target each time they move, or will they keep all ships locked?

pos guns are very stupid. They will spread targets and cycle them randomly. Jammers will not attempt to jam appropriate ships, and they may randomly overjam a single target.

Pos gunners are required for pos guns to be any sort of threat to a determined subcap force

POS guns and EWAR modules will choose their targets purely randomly. They won't concentrate fire, they won't even prefer shooting their appropriate ship sizes. They will also drop their target and pick a new one every once in a while.

Thank you for the feedback. It sounds like times when I do not have a gunner online running all ECM is the best bet. Having single guns shooting random targets sounds laughable, but a single ECM array can be effective, even if it is the wrong race.

Effective is the wrong word. Annoying is better. In high sec at least POS defense is about making the act of attacking so irritating that the reward is not worth the effort. This is less true in other areas, but the idea still holds. If someone wants to blow up your POS, they will. You just have to make them not want to.
