New ISIS highlight icon for armor - somehow I feel that while that medieval helmet is super adorable, it really does not fit into this science-fiction universe.

Or am I just picky again?

Regarding 3rd party info, just want to make sure I understand it correctly:
Could you confirm that completed certificates of a pilot will no longer show up in the /char/CharacterSheet API page and instead we have to check if the pilot has all necessary skills as listed in the certificate yaml file?

DevBlog wrote:
Also the typeIDs.yaml file shipped with the SDE will contain two new fields for ship types, certificateRecommendation which lists all certificates that are recommended for that ship and masteries which is a list of certificates for each level of the masteries for that ship.
I don't quite get that, isn't the recommended certificate system basically obsoleted by the new mastery system? I couldn't find any recommended certificates on SiSi anymore, just the new masteries.

Also, unrelated little improvement idea:
On the ISIS pirate trees, could you make it that the empire faction icons are in the same direction as the 2 faction ship skills are sorted? E.g. for the Guristas tree the Caldari icon is above and the Gallente icon is below, but the Gallente skill is listed above the Caldari skill, so the little skill-meters are a bit confusing until you mouse-over them and see the actual skill names. This issue exists on the Guristas, Sansha, Blood Raider and Angel trees; the Serpentis and SOE trees got it right.

Are there any others that are immune to cargo scanners? I didn't see / can't remember any while updating the descriptions.

I like it very much, bravo. But I would love to see a bit much more options for customization in the future. Right now all ships are sorted by faction, no option to sort it by class. Maybe it would be a bit more comfortable and easy to have a intro/welcome page where we can select the race or ship class in order to browse the certificate tree, than just hoping right into your own faction ships that is displayed by default when we open ISIS. I mean.. I love gallente, but not much their ships. But in order to see which cruiser would fit my taste I need to click through all factions and take notes about every ship in that class before I decide which one to master it. Short version: a compare tool would help a lot.

Bug report: When I click on a ship in the tree then I click on the more info for a particular certificate/skill that was not trained already, the info panel goes blank and stay blank for any other info panel even after I close ISIS. But I'm sure this was already reported and it will be fixed soon.

Thank you.

Nicely done. I hope many of this things will soon be populated outside the ISIS too.
The show info window of Ships could use that kind of upgrade.

The ship class icons would nicely fit as a replacement for the current brackets in overview. This different size box is not that much informative. If you are at it, the NPC brackets could use those too. Always a little shock to see BS-Enemies in level 2 or 3 mission just to realize that they are personal transports (industrials).

Look at the icon of any armor resistance module. The helmet/shield analogies have been in EVE since forever.

Oh might CCP DEvs,

Bring the new ship icon to overview and, if possible, to brackets in space

This MUST happen, please.

Besides, nice job with this news ISIS project, I like it very much.

I sixteenth-or-something the motion to bring these changes to the overview as quickly as possible. Like many others, I had no problems with those squares until now, but now I do. Sorry CCP. We need moar UIzors.

And love the ISIS, very well-designed!

I worry that resolution would be an issue on the brackets, but if it could work, I would be 1000% for it. The bloody square bracket system in use since I started back in '05 has become less and less informative with time and more ships.

THe new ISIS and mastery system are generaly good. [Except for few instances when even 80m sp people, flying capital ships dont have "shuttle" mastry at level 5 because it requires skills that are completely useless for such a hull, and nobody bothered to change it so far.

Then again there is absolutely no reason to make the "masteries" if you dont make it more visible for example seeing another player mastery of ship hes currently in. It would be somewhat like an achievement, show off thing.

Also it would make sense to reward people who mastered a ship with another bonus. . even something stupidly small like "0.1% bonus to all positive ship stats per mastery level, +extra bonus 0.1% stats at mastery V" just to reward people who do it even though a lot of ship certs/masteries have strange skill requirements that nobody sane would max out because a) it takes too long b) its completely useless for everything except that particular thing maybe c) Lower level of that skill already unlocks everything i want including but not limited to T2 items.

Hey hey, I do care P Which skills do you think are irrelevant? Any specific examples? As mentioned before, please go there and tell me all about it!

Will the certificates get fixed?

Some of the new ones are still way to general!
E.g. 1: resource harvesting including all ore mining, ice harvesting and gas cloud harvesting.
E.g. 2: Capital Remote Armor Repair Skills and Shield Transport include the Logistics Skill, which is no use for Rorquals.

I will have a look at example 2. Example 1 will have to wait a bit, please see this reply.

Copy from Rorqual info text

Quote:
Capital Industrial Ships skill bonuses:
-5% reduction in fuel consumption for industrial cores per level
10% bonus to effectiveness of mining foreman links per level when in deployed mode
50% bonus to the range of Capital Shield Transporters per level.
20% bonus to drone damage and hitpoints per level.

Role Bonuses:
900% bonus to the range of survey scanners
200% bonus to the range of cargo scanners

Well, Rorquals got boni for Capital Shield Transporters :D

Anyway, can you pls add some kind of slot layout overview to the ship, like (for a drake) "High: 7 Med: 6 Low: 4 Turrets/Launchers: 6/0" It's annoying when you look at the awesome things your ship can do, while you have to open the info for every ship to compare the slot layouts.

This isn't a certificate question. This is a accuracy of ship info question. Not sure where to post that.

Looks great and should be very useful for newer players, good job!

Ship class icons are also well done and would love to see them replace the current overview brackets and icons.

Time well spent guys, definitely worth not doing anything about drones/POS/overview/useful UI.

Yeah, I know: all those things are on to-do lists of other devs. As always.
These 3rd party tools aren't particularly helpfull to all those people who don't know them,
which quite likely aren't just a few.

This, there are some highly useful 3rd party tools for EVE, but many don't use them, and if I could stick to just the game client, I'd be very happy.
