I like it, but perhaps only on the far frontier. Maybe when they expand past Nullsec, to places there aren't jump gates yet. It could even tie in with the lore; the jump gates top you up while you jump through, but in places where there are no jump gates, you have to be careful where and when you jump. Limit the expansions until the proper industry follows. Set down deployable structures (not POSes) that harvest fuel from the surrounding space, or land mining colonies and have them produce it. Or just import it from elsewhere, if you're able to.

I would have liked it if fuel for every ship was implimented from the outset, but it wasn't, so it wouldn't make sense to just crowbar it in right now. There'd have to be a good reason.

Minmatar ships are solar powered and wouldn't need any fuel :)

It would probably only need to be fueled every month or so.

So it would just be similar to insurance.

BoBwins Law: As a discussion/war between two large nullsec entities grows longer, the probability of one comparing the other to BoB aproaches near certainty.

Null sec is wastely empty...no need to expand.

To topic: now that would be a great thing! Think of the possible implications when you plan a war...fuel-lines...logistics...ahhh

We should have to hire crews through contracts of some sort. [isk sink]

Considering I already "refuel" my missile launchers every time I dock. I'm not sure it would add anything but some extra clicks before undocking.

And extra clicks without a clear purpose are bad, m'kay?

If you run out of fuel would you need to leave your ship? What if your pod runs out of fuel, spacewalk?

Fuel in our ships. hahahahaha! Next you're going to suggest we need bullets for our guns. Go play WOW, [expletive deleted].

I like the idea, longer distance you want to roam, you have to bring smaller ships. Screw alpha nado fleets.

You are thus assuming smaller ships have either A. Larger fuel bays or B. are more fuel efficient...im not sure how you get that a smaller ship would be better for long term deployment when in theory it should be able to hold less fuel (assuming the fuel consumption is universal of course).

As a comment to the OP, what....fueling POSes and capital ships in't enough for you? Perhaps you want to fuel your clone as well? Also, I know this is just bantered talk but any real suggestions should go in Features and Ideas forum :D

An utterly pointless addition that adds nothing to the gameplay. It looks like some players forget that this is, after all, a game, that was at least supposed to be fun.

I mean, what's next?
Health care for our clones where you can pick a package and decide if you want dental care or not?
Tax return papers simulation?
Unemployment bureaus?

maybe the solar sails/panels on Minmatar ships would be functional...

If RTGs were used [Pu238 or maybe a tokamak] the reduced mass of smaller ships would equal greater fuel efficiency than a larger ship using the same fuel. Also, there would be considerations taken into account for thrust and warp -- all related to mass and max velocity. Why would this be a big deal? You already use certain isotopes for jump drives... why not fuel warp drives in a similar fashion? The impact of this change on gaming would be tedious... just like PI, market PVP ... but if worked right I think it could be well done and have a dynamic and lasting effect on gameplay. What about warpcores with variable speed based on rates of fuel consumption? Admittedly Rubicon and Ascendence [sp?] implants have already covered that base... so stuff and yeah. What about giving every ship a jump drive, ditching stargates and actually being freee to move about.

I'm sure everyone is going to smash this shitpost asap ... but hey, ideas are ideas and some are better than others. Maybe I'll apply to CCP Atlanta :D

We have reactors on the ship. They last for several years, or until they're blown up.

Station docking fees would make more sense as a sink.

Cynter's Law of feature suggestion: Thou shalt not suggest NPCs do something players could do instead.
