I just thought I would see what you horrible folks could come up with. I have a snotty nose, ears that feel like pounding drums and a pair of eyeballs that resemble a pack of wolves feeding on a wildebeast. Oh god help me now...

Came expecting sick things in the "sick thread".
Welp....

Here is what you should do:

1. Vitamin C. Onions have lots of vitamin C, but heat destroys the molecule, so you should eat them raw. You can go for oranges if you cannot stand onions.

2. Warm beer. Pour a bottle of beer into a pot and let it boil, after it has cooled down a bit again drink it quickly (warning: warm beer tastes horrible, you have been warned)

3. Bed rest. Immediately after drinking the warm beer go to bed, take care that your body is completely covered with at least one warm duvet. You will soon start to sweat like there's no tomorrow and quickly fall asleep. Tomorrow you should feel a lot better already.

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

I think I must have been delirious when I posted this - I completely forgot I had! Big smile

Still - the replies have provided a few minutes worth of entertainment whilst all of my bodily fluids try and exit from my nose and eyes. It certainly is what I imagine Ebola feels like at times....

I've done the sweating thing today (on purpose I mean) and am now having a glass of wine before returning to horizontal.

Bourbon is a kind of whisky, generally rougher than single malt scotch, or triple distilled Irish. That makes it more suitable for medicinal application when you can't taste as much, or you include it in black tea with honey.

Since about... August 10th maybe I've on and off had terribly annoying sinus congestion leading to "oh god there's a balloon in my skull" headaches- often exacerbated by the bitingly cold wind that we get up here at this time of year. Thankfully it's going away (and hasn't gotten infected or anything), but I wanted to share this because having any sort of congestion related to a headcold or anything even remotely similar is quite up there on the "things that absolutely blow" list.

Good to hear you're feeling better though OP.
