Thanks for making my point, I couldn't have done It better myself.

The TL/DR answer is that I support the sandbox, which should be protected and enhanced.

Imagine all of the ice disappeared throughout all of high sec. Perhaps only a particular kind to start, but more varieties would continue to vanish until players start trying to solve the mystery. A news release comes out (a CCP live event- series of events) and from there we get some sort of storyline mission that requires a lot of players to join together to complete a variety of missions that develop over time to solve the mystery. Eventually... a few days or a month (depending on player involvement) the mystery is solved and the Ice returns. It may require a bunch of miners to join in and help in some way to achieve the group goal of solving the mystery.

That is the very opposite of a sandbox activity. May as well call it a quest and sell it for $15.

I disagree. Something like this would force certain groups of players experience more of Eve and interact. Furthermore, it could introduce all sorts of emergent gameplay in response, especially if others can join in on the other side.

But this is also why, at the core, I am running on a set of basic ideas with the understanding that I am actively soliciting ideas and encouraging the community to debate them. If you think that I have some agenda for certain players, you are mistaken.

The only agenda is to protect and enhance the sandbox and to encourage more transparency and open discussion.

If you have specific points and questions to raise, in some level of detail, please do.

Regarding the next player immediately above this post, I am not James 315. Try to imagine Eve as it is today but better. I encourage you to contribute ideas and concerns. I ask that you get past the "no ice" issue and see the possibilities to make your game more fun. Also, as previously mentioned many times, it is but one idea, and I am very open to constructive criticism. Also, I forget to mention that I would support the mission rewards to be fair enough to compensate for the reduction of Ice temporarily. It would also be an interesting way to seed new and limited items into the game.

Thanks.

I'm all for promoting the sandbox for all aspects of gameplay, but I think that CCP powers should be used as little as possible to promote emergent gameplay. A Scooby-Do ice interdiction would be too scripted for me to approve of. Also, for future reference, none of my accounts have any miners. All my characters are either PvP pilots, or junk holders.

We have to look at the demographics here. Historically, the group this "Ice Mystery" event targets would much prefer to come to the forums and whine rather than form communities dedicated to running/fixing the problem. Just look at all the tears when the New Order had just become known. Another possible outcome would be that people would calculate the best ways to farm the "events" for maximum profit, a bit like incursions, and resist taking them down causing even more tears from the affected.

Just attempting to provide some constructive criticism here.

I don't vote so I really don't have a say either way. But who knows Erotica might be the first candidate to make me do it, depending on their pitch.

Erotica 1, I honestly thought you were just up to wacky hijinks and I was wondering why goons were coming down on you so much until I finally got around to looking at your thread on the goonfleet dot com top secret forums no spies allowed and saw those pictures and now I feel really creeped out.

My whole problem with Somer Blink was the way they used internet spaceships and compulsions to manipulate people's weaknesses in ways that could damage their real lives and now I have that exact same problem with you. This is a computer game on the internet and like all things on the internet it attracts some mentally shaky people and that needs to be taken into account.

I don't want to say mean things to you, though, I just want to ask you politely to reflect on your behavior and consider the larger effects of your actions.

What about members of goonswarm sending some of those pictures via eve mail to random people, is that okay?

x up if you would support him.

If you do not, please post a thread voicing your concerns, and perhaps he could address them.

Not No but HELL No... EVE needs Help Succeeding not being buried deeper in the kitty litter box. Rewarding this individual with a CSM is simply Ridiculous. Here's some Info for you good readers... this is FACT and evemails are available screen shotted for proof if needed.

Evemail from a Hired AWOXER hired by Erotica1 and minerbumping.com:

quitting the corp
From: Artan Albosa
Sent: 2013.11.12 20:55
To: Stud Duficious,

Hi Stud,

i am an awoxer and minerbumping.com dragged me to your corp. However my main is in NCdot and i don't want to cause trouble to allies, Also i have to say that you look way more capable than James 315 made you look like. That's why i am quitting your corp, on an unrelated note i am also selling this character.

I wish you and your corp the best as you are, honestly, some of the nicest people i have come across in EVE.

Artan.

For a direct link to a screenshot of the evemail, please see the attached link below:

I think this in it's self validates that minerbumping.com and Erotica1 are in no way responsible enough to handle any kind of responsibility for the Eve Community. Nuff Said. Enjoy.

That person should also revisit his or her choices, then, just as I requested of Erotica 1. Or is this some kind of really dumb tu quoque attempt? Because if it is, it is a particularly dumb one, even for you.
