This guy is like free publicity for you.

1. He streams huge fights and events, something which you should be doing more as self-promotion.
2. He explains very casually to new people watching the stream, WTF is going on.

./upvote, if not CCP mad ani, at least give him more tools to report with.

If you're hired by CCP then how would you do a neutral stream? You would be a member of the company which has to almost completely stay outside of the sandbox.

If you started streaming timers to all of EVE it would then be CCP streaming all that intel, not a neutral third party.

Something else to note.

When you say "he bought loads of new players to the game" while I agree this isn't bad for EVE also note that he did that via his affiliate link, which doesn't mean he is doing it entirely for everyone else.
If he was redeeming the PLEX and giving it to each new player who joined I would say he was selfless in promoting EVE Online. However unless someone can correct me on this, that's not the case.

Mad Ani has used his stream (which I wont argue is good and I watch myself during large fights) to gain a brand new PC and 500+ (according to his own post) PLEX/Months of Time.

I believe he could bring some skills of streaming to CCP but that's not something they can't do themselves, proven with the AT and Caldari Live events. If he was also a programmer, web designer or had any other skills to bring to CCP which he could do as a day job sure, but streaming and being paid a full wage to sit at your PC showing the Jita Undock as there are no fights isn't realistic.

1) Beg for a PC fund keeps casually growing then seems to stall just before it's 3rd or 4th target for a few days
2) Ask in channel if stream revenue goes towards new PC fund = removed and banned from channel
3) Slide show of an undock with rude / no commentary is not interesting.
4) Now he has a new PC paid for by the White Knights of the Round Table of Ani he finds new excuses why he can't get good footage
5) Unlicenced music
6) In game ISK prizes for subscribing with real money. Sounds like RMT to me.

If you want a job, send a CV to a recruiter or something. Starting a petition just screams for attention, it's embarrassing.

Also: Claimed 24/7 stream is offline.

i'm going to have to say no to this.

i don't feel like mad ani has done enough for the eve community. he doesn't appear to provide solid content. if you want a streamer that streams eve on a consistent basis and has been playing the game for 10 years, check out daopa.

As the stream has been offline for what, 24h now? Perhaps this is Mad Ani's goodbye troll? Big smile

If a stream gets mass-reported to Twitch for violating the rules, it is suspended pretty quickly pending review. Now I have exactly zero information suggesting this is the case, but his massively ill-advised OP has possibly catalysed people who were "meh, that fool" into taking action. He may have just thrown a paddy.

I'd personally never noticed that he was doing a "give me money and I give you ISK [via lottery]" RMT scheme, so no doubt he has attention on that now, too.

As I posted earlier, there's a kind-of tragic irony in the fact his own ****** streaming practices (ban everyone, all the time) had left him unaware that the people left liking him are rather a minority, and that the majority of people could have told him how this thread would have panned out.

"Do not touch anything unnecessarily. Beware of pretty girls in dance halls and parks who may be spies, as well as bicycles, revolvers, uniforms, arms, dead horses, and men lying on roads -- they are not there accidentally." -Soviet infantry manual,

We could always wait for the next patch which integrates Twitch into EvE Online, at which point more people will probably stream...for free...because they enjoy it, not because they need a source of income.

The promoting part is bs. Chances are, if you're not playing EvE and haven't played Eve, you would not have heard much of Twitch TV, not to mention watch a huge clusterf*** of space pixels of which you don't understand a damn thing.

1 Mad Ami is doing so much for the community and it would be a great shame and a serious downer if we were to lose him.
I personally always got his stream running while fighting in 10% tidi..only thing that keeps me awake when the servers turn to jelly..

How did anyone ever think this could be a good idea?

No, really. I have nothing against Ani, but this screams of someone wanting to be paid for doing next to nothing. If it was something CCP actually wanted as a feature, I'm sure they could just devhax a "cameraman" into a system and just start streaming.

The "host" card can't be played, because (and again, I mean no offence) Ani's a pretty lack lustre host, with very narrow minded music choice (Whenever I've viewed his stream, I've muted it).

It's not a job. It's a few minutes of someone's time.

Not only is his stream filled with pop-ups everywhere, he doesn't even do commentary.
Just tream for the money/plex you get from the twitch links.

CCP doesn't have untalented nothings as staff.

It would be a good fit for CCP and Ani. Ani has done a lot to get new players into the game and make their intro into the game an enjoyable experience.

Been following the stream for quite a few months now. Had many questions answered when asked. Great community of people that hang out there.

Seems the only people flooding the forums to spam hate are Goons.....didn't Ani have to ban them due to them acting mature and spamming his channels any chance they get.

I find all the anti-Ani QQ so funny, all the temper tantrums being thrown on the forums because Ani wouldn't let them act like an immature fool.

And lets not forget that some are mad because people made a choice to support Ani and send him some money. How this affects them is beyond me but please keep feeling butt-hurt and posting.....the comedy Ani is generating is priceless.

Not to mention quite a few other prominent EVE streamers have expressed their disgust at this as well.

And no, I do not include myself in that statement. I be a scrub.

So, is this how things get done now-a-days? "Let's make this a big deal, and bully the company into giving it to us."

If this kid ever got hired, he'll be adored at work. Maybe the streamer should consider the normal "job application" route.

Or do something different than everyone else to help the chances of said job app getting noticed. How dare someone go the extra mile.
