Having guilty pleasures is a gallentean decadence.
Have them, and you will turn into animals, savages.

Well ok not really sorry, it's one of the better reality shows out there. The show about Concord quickly became boring, My Caldari life was just brain numbing. And watching rich teen kids drama on crystal boulevard, is not something i would enjoy unless i was so drunk i was barely concious.

Apology accepted.

Now I'm still all ears if you'd like to impress me instead. Surely that can't be your only guilty pleasure? Perhaps there are others for which you don't feel guilty?

Every now and then, there's a Holo Reel or short story that becomes wildly popular. Back in the day, "Undead Lust Under the Diamond Sun" was the series everybody loved and hated where I grew up on Luminaire. These media phenomenons only last about three or four years in the spotlight before no longer being relevant.

My guilty pleasure, is that I like to delve into these unusual hits trying to find out why exactly they gain massive followings. Some spend large amounts of time referencing other shows, cultural parody, and more mature plays while being marketed for children like in "Cronicals of: The Amazing Horsefish."

I can imagine it now, you pull the string from the Kim doll, "The Federation must be destroyed!" or should she talk after squeezing her belly?

Either way, I'd buy one.

You will have funny ideas about my belly, and I will have funny ideas about chopping off your head.
Got it?

To each their own Kim. Just as the thought puts a smile on my face, I bet you have a grin with your imagination as well. Maybe I could commission a model doll of me? It will have a detachable head so you can have something to put a smile on your face when feeling grumpy.

I have seen as a certain person cut a head of a live gallentean in front of me. You know, even if you don't consider gallenteans as completely humans... this kind of "display" is not what will make you... smile. On the other hand, such measures sometimes are necessary.

Kim, a yapping Crystal Boulevard, bow tied furrier is more threatening than you and your threats of violence.

Looks like I got the incorrect meaning from having 'funny' ideas about chopping my head off. For a moment there, I took you for a narcissist. Glad I'm wrong!

As this topic is about guilty pleasures, which I will deviate a bit as I do not feel guilty, I do wonder just how to get you to smile, even just for a moment. I know, "Disgusting Gallente". But Kim, there's a certain bit of life that you'll be missing if you don't enjoy it. I know, "Pleasure is meaningless." but I'm not going to give up on ya gal. For now, good night and sweet dreams. I'm getting some rest.

Ah, I almost forgot, you are that person that always runs away in terror when sees me in person.
Shame.

The concept of a guilty pleasure is somewhat odd to me. How can you derive true pleasure from something that you feel guilty for?

It is not entirely that you feel guilty for partaking, but that other people might wish to attempt to make you do so should they discover you happen to enjoy it. It's different from a vice in that it should not, in and of itself, cause actual tangible harm to you or those around you.

For example, Miss Ash here has indicated she happens to enjoy watching "reality" holoseries. A friend or acquaintance - or even some random person on the street - might choose to tease or mock her over this, perhaps because they feel her apparent lack of standards is something she should feel guilty about.

And Miss Rella, she enjoys reading "news" material from the bottom of the metaphorical slop bin - whether or not she believes any of what she reads there or not is irrelevant; the fact that she enjoys reading it in the first place is where the "guilty pleasure" comes in.

Other people happen to enjoy childish pursuits well into their adult lives. Or perhaps they happen to be particularly fond of an actor, writer, musician or some other kind of celebrity that is generally considered unpopular - what's important is the expected reaction that "knowing" your so-called "guilty pleasure" would bring - not necessarily whether you feel guilty about it or not in and of itself.

Me? I happen to enjoy using my own two hands and getting something done myself every now and again.

I've never really felt guilty in that respect to anything. So euhm, I only have pleasures?

That said, Roid Survivor, really? I found it to be a bit predictable after season 2, another bunch of people thrown together, more drama and crying and people wanting to go home and weird "forbidden" relationships growing between the competitors.

But hey, whatever floats your pod. Besides, I can hardly complain. I'm a sucker for those horrible cheesey sci-fi flicks like Megafedo v/s Charisocosaurus.

Nobody is your type, Anslo.

At least nobody human…

-I thought we established that pretty clearly in the other thread?

As for any sort of pleasure from watching live streams or holoreels, I think whatever suits you suits you. Yet personally, I think that as an immortal, there is a natural lure to experiencing everything in person. Such as, isn't there part of you (even a little part) that wants to take a soft clone and experience "Roid Survivor" in person?

More Character Customization :: Especially compared to what we had in 2003...
