The Law of Conservation of Energy states that energy is not lost.

Xfers also create energy at no expense. Gang links send down wizard beams making ships in the fleet magically stronger. Planets and other celestial bodies are static in space. Missiles go the same velocity relative to a stationary target whether the ship that launched them was moving towards or away from them. Congratz on finding one of the many things that don't make sense in this game.

I just tell myself that it interferes with the capacitor's charger and makes the energy leak out excessively through modules/whatever else the ship has Smile

I think of them as causing short circuits. Have you seen how quickly a short circuit makes a battery go flat?

Energy Neutralizers output an equivalent vector-negative power waveform to the systems being used on a ship. They use CPU on the attacking ship to calculate the exact signal needing to be transmitted, and use cap on the attacking ship to generate the necessary wave.

Bumping is because ships have automatic emergency evasive maneuver programs, the ships do not actually touch they just get very very close and eject away from one another at a high speed to prevent actual collisions.

As far as this game is into the future you shouldn't be so surprised on how the laws of well... everything seem to work. I'm not saying that the laws are false but there is a chance that some have been changed due to consistent scientific research. So I believe the capacitor is ion energy based in nature, if a gravity well focused on the ships power core and is focused harshly enough to the area of effect and the frequency is set to the right intensity there is a possibility that the Ionic energy can by pulled straight from the capacitor via the gravity well into your ships capacitor faster the the enemy ships core can recharge therefore "sucking it dry" as long as the gravity well remains active. Remember that Ion energy has the ability to be changed into electrical energy thus is why most modules are powered straight from the ships core, ie. rail-guns and there use of electro-magnetic/kinetic force.
