I am wanting to do exploration and was looking at training for a pilgrim and using that as a stepping stone to a t3 cruiser. With the cerebral implant plus a remap and some +3 or +4 implants roughly what length of time am I looking at for this. The pilgrim that is I know the T3 will take a while to train as well fund.

My plan was to train exploration skills and fit an arby and explore in high sec to hone my skills at my choosen career. Then move into low sec with a pilgrim and eventually a T3 for null and Wh.

I tried to get a rough estimate from evemon but it seems buggy with the cerebral implant the skills do not seem correct. ( I may have made a mistake though and done it wrong).

I would guess atleast 3-4 months minimum, likely much more to be proficient with it. EVEMon is your best bet though.

Not too bad since an arby will be fairly quick. I've got a plan for eve mon but the attributes seem unable to go above 25. So the time line didn't seem right.

Remember to give Recon V a high priority. It is almost required to fly the recons properly, since it's difficult to make the best fits without it.

Skill-wise T3 cruisers are faster to train than Recons, so unless you plan flying recons in the future i'd advice you to go straight for T3 cruisers.

Ah, you seek meaning? Then listen to the music, not the song.

I use Eve Hq for fitting, skill planning, and more... much better imo than eft or eve mon, and it is all in one application.
Personal preference I suppose. http://www.evehq.net/

As far as training for a Pilgrim, Eve Hq will tell you how long for your toon and its skill training thus far, if you update the api to the application, and use the item browser, ships, select pilgrim...

It can take you a few months to get one skilled up fairly well. Here is a fit I use for the Pilgrim as an example: this took me a bit longer to train... and it works very well in fleet.

[Pilgrim, pvp combat]

3x Medium Energy Neutralizer II
Covert Ops Cloaking Device II

Warp Scrambler II
Stasis Webifier II
Tracking Disruptor II
Medium Capacitor Booster II (Cap Booster 800)
10MN Afterburner II

Damage Control II
1600mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I
Armor Thermic Hardener II
2x Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II

Medium Ancillary Current Router I
Medium Trimark Armor Pump I

5x Hammerhead II

All skills five with a 2 % powergrid implant FTW.

Well Recons IV at the very least.
I can fit my Pilgrim on Recons IV but it is very, very tight. And possibly relying on other stuff being at V.

In EVE there is a difference between "flying" a ship, andflying a ship. The first implicates the ability to sit in said ship with a fit barely worth mentioning. The second suggests the ability to fit said ship so perfectly that all who stare at your mere presence in a solar system cower with fear as you stomp their Drake.

I personally recommend you don't fly anything technical for a while, stick with T1 until you have trained viable support skills that allow you to fit the ship to perfection.

tl;dr about 4-5 months to fly it properly.

If you are looking to get into a TIII eventually I would suggest that training for a recon is actually a side-step that takes away skill training that would actually be useful.

Initially you want to work not so much on SHIP skills as you do SUPPORT skills (the ones that improve tank, fitting, navigation etc as these benefit ANY ship you fly.

I'd actually recommend you consider a Harbinger rather than a recon as a pre-TIII ship. Obviously this lacks a cloak which is of benefit in null and I assume you are interested in wormhole exploration.

There is nothing particularly wrong with training for a Pilgrim, and it might actually be exactly the ship you do want, I am just suggesting you consider if it is right or wrong for you since aside from the ability to cloak, it is not that effective alone.... also as mentioned you more or less HAVE to have recon V which is (probably) a 20 day training investment? You would do better to put that into support skills (which also get you into a TII quicker anyway. That and having Battlecruiser ability is very handy for PVP and also for mission running.
