I Love watching Mad_Ani's stream when i cant get to the fights, i sometimes sit logged into game staring at the stream for hours not even playing eve, but absolutly love everything he does with twich! this gets TONS of free publicity when the stream hits front page on TWITCH and tons of new players hop in and see the fights going on and ask what exactally is going on.

the only downside to the streams, is the new people only see the stuff happening under extreme TIDI and think the whole game is that slow :(

I would love to see mad ani continue streaming!

OK, a few things:

1) http://www.ccpgames.com/en/jobs

2) Attempting to guilt a company into hiring you by posting a petition thread on their forums is a great way to massively reduce the chances of you getting hired. Even if you get a load of people to support you, It's bad PR, whether you're successful (cue 3001 copycat threads), or not successful (cue "evil bastard games company won't hire someone with a dedicated following").

3) Can you come up with a business case as to why Eve needs an official CCP live stream. More to the point, how do you ensure that it remains fair and unbiased? Are you planning on streaming from Polaris ships, giving my enemies an unkillable source of intelligence?

I reccomend CCP does not hire Mad Ani, and here are my reasons why.

1. It does not show Eve in the greatest of ways, showing station undocks is not good for Eve publicity, it only makes people wonder, "Why should I play a game where I look at stations"

2. If you were to hire someone, I would hire someone who actually streams useful, and content that would better include audiences that do not know what Eve is, for example a small gang pvp'er, or someone who is actually there when they are streaming and can answer questions, and not make it appear as if CCP is just trying to get free money by people who are AFKing in a stream.

3. Copyright. Mad Ani is streaming 24/7 copyrighted music, unless he managed to find 8 days of royalty free electronic music. Either that or he pays a shitload of royalties. Also it is clear that he just downloaded a bunch of music compilations from YouTube and just puts it into a playlist, meaning he does not really DJ.

4. Unable to take constructive criticism. A while ago, I went onto his stream, and pointed out a couple critiques about his stream, and in my mind, they were fair points. I did not spam them, I did not use caps, I did not be a **** when writing the words, but he still took it as spam, telling me in a way to just go away, and not provide constructive criticism

5. A couple hundred people voicing their opinion for a person to be hired, does not accurately display what the rest of the user base thinks of him. Eve has over 500,000 accounts. Assuming that on an educated guess, every person has an average of 3 alts, that equates to roughly over 166,666 people that play Eve. So far, I count 86 people supporting this in this thread, meaning that, going on pure estimates on the Eve user base, only 0.05% of the Eve player base supports this man being hired into CCP

6. Mad Ani has clearly mentioned several times in his stream that he has and is in contact with several CCP employees, why not use one of them to get an interview with the company instead of posting here in the forums?

I could probably come up with more reasons, but to be honest my time is more important than ripping this person apart.

CCP should hire the cute cat with the headphones in your stream.

But not you.

Posting 'give me a job so I don't have to go out and find one' is setting yourself up pretty poorly.

Your stream isn't an asset, it's a fan site. Let that sink in.

What a horrible way to get hired. But who knows, it might work, it is CCP. Sorry for all the damn :words:, but lack of even semi-accurate analysis, missing text box explaining the situation, and begging annoys me.

1. How do resumes work. This is straight up begging. But that's Mad Ani.
2. Mad Ani often times does not understand what is happening in the fight, as he is not very well versed in mass combat. I had hoped he would get better at it, but he hasn't. His analysis is usually 'Hey, buy me a better video card.'
3. Because he is ill-informed about what is going on, his contributes to the stream is to just sit there and watch with us, without saying much except 'Please buy me a better computer since this one is so slow.'
4. Now that he has a faster computer, he makes more excuses about why his stream sucks, like characters not in the right places, dying to easy stuff catching him, and constant whiteouts when he's too far zoomed in, with an unfiltered overview and no /intel pastes. ( https://adashboard.info/intel )
5. He does catch some things, like DD's and bombers, but even DBRB can catch that kind of stuff. Even when he does, it's badly framed.
6. He is constantly explaining what is happening because he cannot reserve just a tiny bit of his screen to say a quick timeline of 'N3 bridged in, RusRus followed them in, N3 jumped in Caps/supers, BL jumped in dreads, ncdot jumped in titans to kill dreads, and now we're in horrible tidi.' He doesn't keep score on who's shooting who, when it should be easy enough to do, like '800 n3 vs 500 rusrus'. Not to mention he has very few canned 'this is how eve works' speeches, and instead says 'Go watch my past videos.'
7. He has volunteers for good intel, but generally turns them down because that's effort. And anything effort is not worth his time. Unless it gets him donations.
8. He spent most of his birthday stream hitting on some chick, very badly. It was painful to listen to. But hey, Eve streaming! (and tengu lost)
9. What, you can't make money off twitch after your obvious important contribution?

If CCP wanted to have a permanent streamer, they'd make their own twitch (oh wait), hire some people in charge of it (oh wait), have some GM's/ISD people man it (oh can't do that), and maybe have them do some analysis of the fight, which is the only hard part. They have all the infrastructure and people already, just have not done it.

Either way, I hope it's not you. You are only viewed from time to time because you poopsock it up and are usually on. CCP could replace your use tomorrow if they actually cared, but you would add nothing to that equation. Go get a real job already.

Are you serious Ani?

This is not how you ask a company of the size of CCP for a job. There are less public ways of applying to work with a company, and though I don't work for CCP I'm sure that they would prefer to deal with this kind of questions in private and only go public when they are ready to announce the new developer or whatever you would be.

Don't get me wrong, yes you do a good job with your stream, and you get paid for that (ads and subscribers) it's not enough to make a living? well tough luck, nobody can start making a living out of youtube/twitch out of nowhere, people had to work their way up to get to the point where they had a substantial number of followers to allow them to live out of money from ads and subscriber money.

But let's just say that CCP would benefit from hiring someone like you, this is not how you should have applied for that job.
CCP is a big and well organized company and they can handle the process of finding and selecting the people that will work with CCP, if they haven't contacted you yet, that is because they are either not interested yet in paying someone to stream the game for 24/7 or you just don't fit their requirements.

You mention that your viewers told you that you should create a petition? That is not the right way of doing these things, you can't make a petition where a few hundred people will sign and say, "hire this guy, because this many people want him in your company for a job that you haven't offered yet" That is not a healthy start for a business relationship, all you are doing is putting pressure on CCP by saying that without you "no more amazing camera angles, like if that was difficult? It's not it just requires someone to be there and be streaming, you are not the only one that knows how to use the eve camera i'm afraid.

Now are you the only guy that can do what you are doing and be neutral at the same time? maybe... but I much prefer to watch either dbrb streams or the stream of a N3 member or Solar member, because it's much more interesting for me to watch the perspective of someone that is actually in the fight doing things than watching the perspective of someone that is far away just watching and that can only guess what is actually going on.

Anyway this plus that skype call you had with CCP rise a few days ago in your stream completely destroyed any respect i had for you, you shouldn't put pressure on a CCP developer or CCP itself trying to get more support from CCP so that you can keep doing what you are doing right now, you shouldn't have done that, it's ridiculous. They already give you enough support, when there is a big fight happening not only the official twitter and facebook but the developers themselves post on twitter about it and link your stream, you should had worked with that and tried to build from there, but instead you tried to pressure CCP because you don't have patience to wait for them to make you an offer.

Anyway, regardless of all that, I do wish you a good luck with your recent job, on the stream you said it was a "miserable job" and though i don't know what is your Job right now, I'm sure you'll see that you were exaggerating, that is not as bad as you think, you just won't have as much free time as you did before this. And if you happen to be unhappy with that job, go look for another one, and i hope you find something that makes you happy.

o7 fly safe, and I'm sorry for the wall of text + poor english, it's a horrible combo i know.

1. Firstly, having hung out in Ani's stream a fair bit during the Fountain war for the free intel, I have to say I've never really taken to the guy's personality or thought that he came across as particularly professional. That's personal opinion, sure but it doesn't seem I'm alone in that opinion either.

2. Secondly, I'm not sure I need to point out why an 'official' CCP stream providing intel to/on the nullsec alliances is a terrible idea.

3. Lastly, You know that bit in Dragon's Den where they say something like 'So what exactly have you got that I couldn't set up in 30 minutes with a PC?', that's what CCP should be thinking to themselves right now. Sure they could put some guy on the payroll to provide this 'service', or they could just use dev-hax to put cameras in the nullsec staging systems and in systems with large battles going on. Lower cost, same outcome.

You ask (begg) for an Job, but when the community is flaming, you take your stream offline, taking your stream offline just shows how thin skinned you are. Where are your Balls?

If i'm a Boss of an Company and, if i see how fast you take off your stream because you can't take any criticism, i would not do hire you.

Why not CCP DBRB? Now here's a man who doesn't just stream Eve content, he provides it too.
