So much good work done; so much more still to do.

So many batles fought. Some lost, more won. So many more yet to fight.

And given the outcry over CCP awox'ing 2000 plus high sec players last week, then gleefully broadcasting the carnage on screens at the party upstairs, what do you think what will happen when your version of Eve is implemented? (And yes, you and the other null sec cartel members have won, with the Ayn Rand disciple CCP Seagull rushing headlong in creating your dystopian version of Eve high sec).

Does CCP believe that it will easily replace the 30 or 40% of its sub base that will quit, or have you convinced the CCP decision-makers that the sheep will just meekly accept the wrecking of high sec, and the damage to the existing base will be minimal, and far offset by an influx of more sociopaths drawn to the game?

I persuaded them to offer hi-sec players a 90% discount for attending fanfest. Once they're all crowded into the main hall, the doors close and and the gas cannisters begin to seep.

Soon after, the Icelandic population, long since starved for good meat, and sick to death of eating cod, flock to buy choice cuts of "high sec" quality meat from CCP.

The money is used to buy reinforced nodes for the staging systems of every nullsec alliance.

I sleep well: the problem of EVE is finally solved.

Fat chance of that. Dinsdale knows better than to provide you all that you need for your black-bagger friends to conduct a voice print analysis identification of him IRL.

Because in your case it would seem to be serious, even if hyperbolic or done in a jocular manner. In malcanis's case it was obviously done sarcastically in that he believes quite the opposite, evidenced by the quote in that very post where he lays out a detailed vision for the, so-called, hisec denizens.

There is no double-standard, just a single standard that functions for people who can understand context and follow the flow of a conversation.

Mal, did you ever come up with any ideas for limited PVP that don't involved deadspace in the hi-sec areas?

Also, I'm really glad I hopped into this conversation, it's been very interesting and enlightening on several fronts.

Seeing as how your incessant abuse and suggestions about the real-world state of your fellow players haven't gotten you banned yet, what makes you think anything of the kind?

Then again, if you said it, people might actually believe it given the kind of rants you've been on where you can't separate real world from fantasy… so maybe you're right, but not for the reason you suggest.

No that kind of thing is really difficult and I'm not that creative.

Sorry Malcanis.
We have had our email chats.
I just don't see the point.

Yes, you can be quite reasonable at times, and were a great help with getting those Bastion skills sorted on Sisi.
But overall, you and I view the game though a vastly different set of lens.

I have lived in null, done PVE in null, fought wars in null.
I have lived in wh's, done PvE in wh's, fought battles in wh's.
I still cruise around in low sec (hi to the gatecamper's in Fensi, while I bookmark safes for incursion runners who might want to brave the low sec pipe to the island).
And I have come back to high sec, again and again.

It is simply the the most enjoyable way to play the game for me, even after all the attacks your group has done to it, and I am far from alone in that sentiment. And when your group finally gets your way and destroys high sec, then I, and far more people than CCP would like to believe, will simply move on to something else.

The null sec cartels are still a couple more iterations away from gaining complete control of high sec, maybe not until May 2015. Hopefully, by that time, Star Citizen, or some other game, will be stable, and welcoming of the people that want to enjoy a game without ruining someone else's fun.

Do you have any actual examples of any of the above really happening?

Ah - the good old, "If you don't like what I like, you're some kind of socipath!"

I'm curious: Have you fulfilled any of the requisite training and licensing (whatever that may be in your area) that would actually permit you to render any such diagnosis of mental welfare of another person?

"Help, I'm bored with missions!"

Dinsdale rarely fails to make me feel ashamed and guilty that I will never be even 1% of the devious, dedicated, endlessly resourceful plotter that he has such unshakable faith that I am.

I love EVE, but I will never love it even remotely enough to justify his regard.

Yeah, I grew out of conspiracies in my early teens when i realized people just weren't that smart; and if they actually were, you would never catch them.

I have another answer.

Because CCP chooses to not develop anything beyond ship to ship PvP, an activity which is barred to me for certain reasons beyond my control.
So your answers is something that doesn't actually gel with reality. Ugh.

Creation and destruction of assets through ship to ship PvP, does that sound as a better description of the core mechanic?

Now let's say that adrenaline rushes made you suicidal, would you voluntarily engage in EVE's heart-pumping PvP?

Now let's say you still want to play the game in a more relaxed but equally challenging way...

…then you're moving then goalposts from “nothing beyond ship to ship PvP”, and as it happens, CCP has developed quite a bit of content beyond that.
