'shared' is the word some people use.
'was hacked' was the phrase used in the request to CCP.

Or so the story goes. Not exactly the same thing.

"Hacked" is not how the mark himself described it from what is visible on the API. What language he used in his request to CCP is not visible through API and is not a valid topic for discussion anyways, as those communications are private.

I'm guessing he was referring to this? Can't think of anything else that would relate.

EDIT: I had the links up but deleted them after finding out they had been deleted a few times today already by moderators.

I'm going to take a differing perspective than my CODE buddies, on this one.

I'm OK with the whole "brother" thing. People take the metagame waaay too far at times. It would really suck if someone were to compromise my main's password, and nuke my SP to oblivion. Having the option to get that fixed, I think, is a good thing.

I know, strong passwords and all, but..folks can be *dedicated* in their revenge.

Conversely, I feel that anyone abusing the ability to fix a genuinely compromised account deserves a permaban.

If you read the chat logs on minerbumping I think you will find the "brother" thing was a scheme cooked up by the CEO for petition purposes.

Didn't CCP Falcon say these threads would be considered spam and locked?

INB4L

You mean lock threads that are concerned about the sandbox being interfered with, and in which EULA violations are not only being allowed to happen but appear to be given assistance?

I'd be very surprised if that happened!

*snicker*

CCP Falcon did add this to Erotica's locked thread:

Quote:
For clarity, I'd like to say the following:

This situation was brought to our attention on Friday, and was re-investigated by Customer Support over the course of the weekend, after taking into consideration the concerns presented by the community.

As such, the circumstances surrounding this issue have been revisited, and the proper action has been taken in line with our policies.

CCP will however, not share information with third parties regarding action taken against individual players or accounts. We can assure everyone that no one is exempt from the rules and that Customer Support will act in accordance to the EULA and ToS when determining the proper action against any offending account or character.

This makes our position on the matter clear. Any further threads relating to this issue will be regarded as spam, will be closed in accordance with our moderation policy, and will be redirected to this message.

So I can only assume that sooner or later an ISD might come by and lock this. Just saying.

Nope.

The brother is either fictional and was made up by Rayne himself to cover his ass and get readmitted into corp, or the brother actually does exist. The then CEO, Cryptic, removed both the characters of Rayne and Kirrah upon seeing the killboard carnage as a precaution. Cryptic then stepped down, and the new CEO, Stud, contacted Rayne and was fed the story about it being the brother's fault. Rayne was then accepted back into his corp.

These are facts. Any speculation about what was in the petition is simply that--idle speculation.

The next time I lose SP because I forget to update my clone, I will be petitioning it, citing my brother using my account as the cause, and citing the Heavy Rayne incident as precedence.
