Harvesting Equipment is OP

They way i see things , there's seem to be a little problem with some of the harvesting equipment atm.
Fist of all Miner I & II, Strip Miner I, Ice Harvester I & II and Gas Harvesters don't require any charges at all to operate. One might say that they require capacitor in order to compensate this, but on the other hand if we are to make an analogy with some of the weapon systems in game that require energy to work as hybrids and lasers, we find out that both of them need charges. This is not fair for gallente and amarr pilots out there.
More than that, if we take a look at the amount of energy needed to operate harvesting equipment we also find out that they need very little. Let's take a Retriver for example. It is a mining vessel that doesn't shine so much in terms of capacitor, and regardless of the Strip Miners you use and your capacitor skills it will be cap stable and theoretically mine an infinite amount of ore and that with 3 Mining Laser Upgrades II fitted for maximum yield (the equivalent of weapon upgrades for combat pilots) . This would make any amarrian pilot out there jealous ! They all know how hard it is to make an amarrian ship cap stable without having to sacrifice gank/tank or without the need of capacitor boosters (that also need charges to inject). Not to mention that they need to train capacitor skills (Capacitor Management and Capacitor Systems Operation) to V, Controlled Bursts V, and also preferable
Warp Drive Operation and Energy Weapon Rigging V. But yet the miner out there in Eve is able to use its mining lasers for an infinite amount of time without having to worry about capacitor or purchasing charges (crystals and cap boosters)...

I think that harvesting equipment needs a fix to that , make them use more energy and make so that all of them will require crystals to operate.

mining equipment uses the most expensive charges in game. nothing spends more ISK/h than T2 strips.

and if you don't want to use charges you use the T1 equipment which is FAR inferior to T2 when mining where it matters (null)

I didn't mentioned anything about tech II strips... Reading... can be so hard ...

I didn't mentioned anything about tech II strips... Reading... can be so hard ...


That you didn't mention tech II strip miners doesn't change the fact that GreenSeed has a valid point. Also, mining with tech II strip miners is still harvesting, and therefore relevant to the thread title.

Nope he/she does not, because I wasn't discussing tech 2 strip miners here , so it's still irrelevant to the topic. As for the title I wanted to be as short as possible .

I would think they should adjust Harvesting equipment so it can harvest an attacking ship, think it would be funny as hell, parts of the ship start to drift away towards the retriever it was in the process of ganking.

The Attacking pilot could get messages like
'You can not warp as you have no warp drive'
'You cannot fire as you have no guns'
'You cannot lock a target as you have no targeting system',
The whole process should take 5 minutes or so, with the retriever just stripping away at the ship till nothing is left but the pod, then he can warp away.

Things that keep me up at night;  Why do we use a voice communication device to send telegraphs? Moore's Law should state, Once you have paid off the last PC upgrade you will need another.

Lasers can use tech 1 crystals which never break. Your argument is invalid.

If brute force isn't working, you're just not using enough.

Almost never deteriorate... But the point is that both t1&t2 strip miners can mine WITHOUT using any of the t1 or t2 crystals !

But yet you have to at least buy one of those crystals , while our fellow miner pilot out there just simply buys a Miner I or Strip miner I and is able to immediately put the to work without having to invest further more in purchasing a crystal.

Isn't that enough that miners do their thing without any kind of risk in the game ? Add to that the fact that they don't need to purchase crystals or having to worry about their capacitor getting drained and it becomes outrageous.
