How to loose a Marauder to NPCs... and how to avoid it!

This is why you should always have Thermodynamics trained. Overheating in PvE has saved my ass many times and is generally a very valuable skill.

Also Compton OG Hustler is clearly trolling, nobody in their right mind would spend 30bil for a Marauder fit and those who do have already been discovered and ganked.

Came thinking this was a "my connection dropped and I lost my boat" thread, leaving thinking: Yep, this is why we are getting bastion marauders. Because even marauder pilots can **** up triggers (with the survival info staring right at his face, FFS) and fit like a one day old who don't know what triggers are. Go figure...

Now, I do ofc realize how this sounds like I'm crapping on the guy. Well, I kinda am, but not really. Yes, he should know better if you have spent the time to train into marauders (hell, by then you should be able to do most L4's with your eyes closed). That said, I have had my own "which way did he go, George" moments too.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

you know what's even worse than losing a marauder to missions? Losing a rubicon-marauder to missions!

looking forward to that one! :D

thermodynamics - People always laugh when i talk about overloading in PVE. I find it regularly comes in handy.

t2 fit with t1 rigs. Its a marauder, the least you can do is spend HALF of the hull cost on fittings.

And um, yeah. Eve survival was pretty clear about how to not die there.

"**CCP is changing policy, and has asked that we discontinue the bonus credit program after November 7th. So until then, enjoy a super-bonus of 1B Blink Credit for each 60-day GTC you buy!"**

Never forget.

This. There is no reason to not train this awesome skill.

I guess it's related to the fear of destroying their modules. Lol

The first time i did this mission i almost lost a Raven because i did the same mistakes. Warp to 0, pop all the triggers and enjoy the drone love. Hobgoblins II saved me.

Don't worry man, **** happens and nobody is perfect.

With Rubicon, deploy a Mobile Depot. After 60 seconds you can refit your ship for more tank fairly quickly. You could even slap on a MJD and jump away.

It might be a good idea to check into some macro software since fitting from a Mobile Depot requires manual drag and drop.

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

This ^

I will say many losses are from poor skills and fitting. If you don't have skills for everything T2 don't fly a billion ISK ship till you skill up. For marauders a big thing is the marauder skill. Getting this to 5 can make the difference between going pop or not.

The main mistake you made was at about 5:00 when you popped all trigger ships at once. Full spawn can overwhelm about any single ship and I believe eve-survival also mentioned to keep spawns under control.

That said, this mission can be done in balls-deep way. For that you require propulsion and floor it since the beginning and keep both distance and angular/transversal speed as high as possible.

Couple of random remarks:
- well trained marauder can lock 10 targets simultaneously, you locked initial spawn and started locking other ships only after killing this one;
- target priorities, tacklers first, obviously, but with high dps ship the Paladin is you should focus your guns on killing those who hurt you the most - battlehips in this case;
- yeah, like Qunotor said, when ***** hit air conditioning, you overload.

P.S. Ah, I also didn't see what drones had you launched to kill those tacklers. If they weren't Hobgoblins II or Warriors II then there's one more thing you did wrong.

Anything other than my tengu that thing is a beast great dps lower skills to use and damn near impossible for any rat to hit even when webbed. Plus if a ganking squad comes into my mission I can speed/shield tank them till Concord blows that from the vaccum of space.

You should look into a Tech 3 for mission running properly fitted and skilled T-3s don't blow up yeah you have to spend some isk on them. But the same applys to a Marauder. Had you spented a extra 2 billion isk on it you probley would have not had to make this post. I'm a firm believer that good T-3s = win in pve. Soloed a 8/10 DED site with a cheper version of the tengu then I have now.

proof that Golem > Paladin

ive done the same a bunch of times and never gotten even close to armor and its not exactly expensive either, c-type med booster + t2 gear, easy.

Nonsense it's a paladin. The average fit should cost somewhere between 11-19bil using officer modules

GTFO.... 19B marauder... you filthy noob scrub, with no skills, no clue and no isk... flying anything less then 50B and you are bad at eve.

where do you mission usually?
