Dear art team: New Golem and Paladin skins are awesome!

Is th e Golem going a darker colour again?

It looked pretty cool that way, not the grey/yellow it is now yuk

When the first videos of a new model golem showed up I hated it. Low texture, horrible wings, loss of the 'elegance' and scope of ship the current raven hull sports. I'm one of the few who loves the golem hull, it defines caldari thinking in all things. Function over Form.

Then the model '2.0' showed up with the gun metal grey and more textures. I accepted it, missed my unique tech 2 caldari orange/black scheme. Lai Dai uses it on their ships, isnt it? Don't recall specifically. Anyways, I accepted it as better than nothing.

And now, '3.0' hits, and I am pleased. Does my golem still have the elegant state feel to her? No. CCP has taken some of the magic of the raven class hull from my ship. This ship feels 'smaller' to the eyes. The raven hull has always felt massive to me, this does not. This looks more like the fighter class of battleships now. But, my orange black is back, the textures are amazingly detailed and this is better than nothing.

Send'er my way ccp, I'll adapt to this.

So CPP had opportunity not only to redesign the marauders to actually look like badass the-end-of-it ships and pimp them with awesomesauce bastion animation telegraphing the hell coming and instead... you get this. I am disappointed :( After seeing the Odyssey jump gates, then DX11 announced... you could use Marauders as example of newly possible graphical improvements (and finally let us use high-res textures) and make them boss! Hell when I first got into EVE, I was exploring what all can you fly here and I was like, hmmm Marauders, show me...

Anyway enough of bitching, CPP BunnyVirus could you at least shed some light on why they look like they do? Was this really your art team's goal (I find that hard to believe, as when I look around I can see what are you capable of and admire your work)? Was there not enough time? Was this first try of this sort of animation?

On a side note, I do think the sides of the Paladin looks pretty weak now. The Apoc model has this beefy looking section right there where the bastion stuff is on the Paladin and it looks heavier. Bastion should've done something more with that.

I can appreciate that the Paladin needs to sacrifice some external things in order to look more armored, but since they weren't replaced with anything else I can't help feeling that the other Apocalypse models look somewhat more detailed now.
