C5 Question

I am in a C5 with a static to C6, came in through Highsec, right now the only hole is to a C6, do I have to wait for the C6 to close for a chance of k-space to open or can a random k-space open in my C5 while the C6 is open?

Other question is if I push mass through the C6 that is open till it gets critical does that also reduce the collapse timer...

1) A random (wandering) hole can connect back to kspace at any time, but you will most likely be waiting awhile if you sit still in one system for it.

2) holes can collapse one of two ways: through time, or through mass. Wormholes are unstable by nature and will die after 16 or 24 hours, depending on the kind of connection it is. Wormholes also can collapse due to large amounts of mass jumping through it. You can usually find how much mass it'll take to kill a wormhole somewhere on the internets. There is an upper limit to what a hole can and cannot take, which is why supers and titans will never be able to ho into a wormhole. The two don't interact with each other, so doing one doesn't affect the other when trying to close a hole.

the static C6 will always go to a C6, once it closes another C6 will just open. If theres no k spaces in the C5 you are in then I would scan the C6. There is always a chance of a random K=-space in the C5 you are in, as well as any C6 you connect to.

The collapse timer is unrelated to the mass of the wormhole, so jumping back anf forth wont make it close sooner time wise, although if you use up all of it's mass it will close because of that.

Is there any idea of how often a k-space might pop in the C5...

I guess what I am asking is does anyone who lives in a C5 notice that a k-space pops at least once a week month etc

Surely once a month at least <.<

No, it's totally unforseeable, your best bet would be to scan what is there, a lot of c6s connect down to c1/c2/c3, which always connect to k-space. So once you found a way down, the worst to happen would be you suddenly nring in deklein, having now to scan a way over to highsec :>

We've had 3-4 k-spaces in a week, or none for > 2 months.

It is 100% random.

Another option for you would be to announce yousrself/_ves as lost in J######, wormholers are usually very helpful and won't mind showing you out if they drop by your system AND are aware of you being lost in there :)

As you asked how often are there WH's to the k-space, I'm guessing you have the probes.. So your best chance is to scan the wormholes, you may be 1-2 WH jumps from k-space, so go scan and get out..

Yes I do have the probes.....but was asking because it is actually kinda nice in here and might think about it for the corp....

Just wondering on the logistics of it all.

C3's and below seem to have a lot of traffic.....very quit here.

Could be really busy next week, usually comes in spikes, and hey, could be real busy right now and you might not know ;)
