That was soo cool...

If my pilot is certain to face death... I want full ramming speed towards the enemy ship...

That would be realy awesome, but i believe the main reason this is not yet implented is that the Devs still want players to see where the ship is warping to.

Still +100

Easy solution, use the Star Trek approach. Wherever the ship warped to, you will see a shining light for a few moments.
Absolutely love this, but only for those ships that reach a certain warp speed.

I need this, for science.

But also, it probably could be adapted from the current acceleration system, just have the ship enter warp at a speed that would have the same effect (eg. something like 100,000m/s), then have it accelerate to its top warp speed.

I mean I'm throwing it out there; but if the change is across all ships, is it really breaking anything?

Man is it pretty...

I do NOT like this.... too Star Treky... But I agree that some warp effect would be cool... Personally I would base it on Sonic boom effect though. Something along the lines of this: > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BArpqYspIgU < breaking regular space creating the warp bubble and bubble collapsing on warp exit.

After the warp speed changes that are arriving with Rubicon, we need this : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xpOMc9ysuek
Perhaps make this effect available only to cruiser and sub cruiser class hulls.

Id like to know how this effect could be adjusted to compensate for ships that are slow to get off grid (capitals).

This animation would work well for battleships and capitals too. The difference is in the spool up time.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJ-Ee5BhZF8

As seen in that video, the frigate warps pretty much instantly. This animation and speed off happens only when the ship actually hits warp, and it's time between spool-up and warp is equal to its current time of acceleration off the grid.

For the larger ship, a battleship, it simply takes longer to spool up, with fire belching out of the engines and a loud sound before finally slamming off screen. Again, the time this fiery warp sequence takes is equal to the time it would take for the actual ship to accelerate off grid under normal mechanics.

The align time is exactly the same, and is completely unaffected by this change. There is no difference in when you can tackle a ship.
