Declining a Mission.

I'm currently getting ready to run the Faction Standing Repair Plan on my alts (I don't need to "repair", just want to be able to hide a POS anywhere in Empire Space). The guide says "decline kills missions involving Empire Factions."

I know that when you decline a mission, you lose standing with that agent. However, do you also lose standing with that agent's Corporation?

Much appreciated!

If you decline two or more missions in under four hours for the same agent, you start to lose standings with agent, corp, and faction per decline. The agent hit is the most severe, followed by corp, followed by faction. The faction hit is minimal (last one I got was a -0.0112%) but if you're right on the edge it could make a difference if you made a habit out of it.

But remember, the timer is per agent. If you can swing it, having a small handful of agents in the same or nearby systems and hopping between them pretty much allows you to wait out the timer without stalling on missions if need be.

Thanks for the quick reply!

Kinda sh*tty how declining a mission hits your faction standings, since doing the mission won't advance your faction standings!

Well remember you only lose standing for declining the second one withing 4 hours. The first one you decline won't do anything.

In the 'Plan', the sentence - Decline all encounter missions against any of the major Empire Factions (Amarr, Caldari, Gallente, Minmatar) - pertains mainly when grinding regular missions. Most of the Event Agent missions will be against Pirate, Merc or Rogue Drone NPC's. There are a few Cosmos missions against Empire Factions but the required mission item can usually be obtained from public contracts.

As others have said, no standing loss for declining 1 mission every 4 hours per agent. You can recover standings rather quickly if you happen to decline a couple of missions within the 4 hour timer. Just not a good idea to make that a habit.

Just in case you don't have it, this is the new updated version of the old original 'Plan'.

http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Faction_Standing_Repair_Plan

The opening paragraph contains a link to the old original 'Plan', link for a proposal to reinstate 'The Endless Battle' missions and a link to a 'Comments and Questions' thread created specifically for the 'Plan'..

Good luck to you.

Doing the mission does advance your faction standings in the long run. Once you've done 16 of them, you qualify for a storyline mission.
