Cant log in from regular connection but can via VPN, why?

HELP!

For some reason I cannot connect to eve via my internet access today, but I can through my UK VPN

I am currently using a condo's joint wireless access but I am told they did not block access to eve.

Might I ask what is likely going on?

I am presently in Bangkok Thailand, but I dont think this is the issue as another thai based friend of mine is loggning on fine.

Also to clarify, I dont appear to be able to access eve forums without vpn either, or interestingly the eve offline server monitor. All other website fine though.
