Hi Sec: Your Future Vision

With the upcoming mobile structures and POCOs in hi sec, CCP has shown the first signs of breaking the hi seccer's dependence on NPCs for content and services.

While this is a step in the right direction, it doesn't go far enough. The more things we can hand control of to the players, the deeper and more complex this game becomes.

How would you alter hi sec to decrease dependency on NPC services and hand more content creation power to the players?

Things are only impossible until they are not.

something that has a lot of HP that they can own and maintain by bashing.

Faction Navies go bye-bye. If there's a Smuggler/Outlaw/Enemy Militia outside the station, it should be the players who go after them. Would put some much needed Highsec PvP back in after Crimewatch and Inferno killed most of it.

Please remove CONCORD, faction NPCs, gate and station guns, and cyno-jammers. Keep bubbles in null, I hate bubbles.

By leading the lemmings/sheep to slaughter, CCP has shown that it cares not for highseccers anymore.

By giving highsec gankers new mobile depots to refit in, CCP shows that it cares not for highseccers 'safety' anymore.

By letting anyone place POCOs in highsec, CCP shows that it cares not for highseccer easy money anymore.

Clearly this shows that CCP is getting ready to Nerf highsec.

Finally.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

SSSSHHHHHHHH

Also, not a "all of high should be null" thread. No bubbles. I repeat, no bubbles.

I like the idea of players having more sway in Empire but I honestly feel it would be better as stronger links to FW and Capsuleers supporting the Empires.

I'm one of the few who loves EVE for the lore and to see the the Empires just become more NullSec renter space would be pretty lame.

What I have been saying for years.
CCP plans on trashing its subscription base on the gamble that they will retain enough of its existing base and at the same time attract every sociopath not playing Eve already.

It will be a disaster of course, but I will enjoy watching CCP go down in flames.

Well I disagree, now that the bubbles will have different colours I want more bubbles.

I want more pretty colours in my EVE without having to zoom all the way in on my ship during a fight.

BoBwins Law: As a discussion/war between two large nullsec entities grows longer, the probability of one comparing the other to BoB aproaches near certainty.

CCP clearly don't have resources to develop EVE further so my vision of the future is focused on 5 upcoming sandbox MMO games.

Now this is a fair idea.

Concord will still respond to unauthorized violence in hi sec, but if you don't want pirates flying through your space you'll have to shoot them yourselves (which you can since they're <-5 sec status).

Ok Put hisec players in a lawless environment where those who have vast PvP experience, logistics, experienced flight commanders, and knowledge of combat mechanics. and bloodthirsty half insane teenagers. who nullsquark ALL THE TIME, Are free to roam.

What could possibly go wrong????

It would be strange for a business to alienate its own customer base unnecessarily, until you remember that CCP are the self harming emo teenagers of the game developing community.

For a more realistic Answer:

Removal of all highsec industry slots.

The additional of a rental system, so players can, anonymously, rent industry time from other players POS (or similar)

What a lot of people don't seem to realize is that certain people like casual solo gameplay. What a lot of people don't realize even more is that these casual solo high sec types make the non-casual players pvp gear cheap, and easy to obtain. So if you continually hand over control of major game resource contributions to player control things will get more expensive. Also more and more HUGE BLOBS of crap will form in order to compensate.

I dont care either way, I get along fine.

But.. food for thought.

I don't see the highsec crowd being forced to learn to defend themselves for once being a bad thing. Nor taking some responsibility for what happens in their space, instead of letting the AI do it for them.

People's hatred of high will result in the death of the game they love.

Seriously, why so mad of other people's playstyle.

Its just like a person saying they want to bring concord to null. It's that ridiculous.

If you want people to come to lnull and low, why don't you take the time to invite them into your corp and actually take them out ot low and null. Being hot and bothered because you can't shoot them in high-sec just makes you look petty.

Looking to talk on VOIP with other EVE players? Are you new and need help with EVE (welfare) or looking for advice? Looking for adversarial debate with angry people?

I would counter with the concept that, highsec was never intended to be as safe as it is right now, and after constant knee jerk safety buffs at the behest of the exceptionally whiny highsec carebear playerbase it has grown into something out of control, and needs to be pruned down back into balance with the rest of space.

So, I don't see as being mad at someone else's playstyle on the part of everyone who doesn't cling to highsec. I see it as being mad that highsec won't stop asking for buffs to safety, over and over and over again, despite the fact that they are safer now than they have ever been, or have ever deserved to be.

So it's time to take a little of that back, so the whiny bastards have to something to actually complain about.
