Running a Corporation: API Checking Tools

Hello everyone,

As we all know, many (or maybe even most?) player run Corporations in EVE request API keys from their members. In the past, this was a simple Limited vs Full API matter. But now we have the much more complex Customizable API Keys, or CAKs.

CAKs have great application. You can request specific information on a character, while omitting information you don't need. Potential recruits no longer have to worry about about which items they trade in or cyber-sex sessions they've had ever EVEMail being revealed to (potentially hostile) 3rd parties.

However the only drawback I see is that, with CAKs being so new, there aren't many "API Checker" programs out there for Corporations to use to check potential members. You can always plug the code into your browser, but whet you get back is a sloppy mess filled with brackets and functions that makes reading the data hard.

Some programs, such as EVEMon and EVEHQ, make it a little easier, however for a Corporation they are limited in scope - you can check skills, but little else.

What I'm wondering is if there are any programs out there that can take a CAK code of any combination and regurgitate the information it contains in a neat and orderly fashion? And if not, I propose that somebody write a program up. I would do it myself save for the fact that I don't know how to program, and by the time I get around to learning it (with school, work, and the kids), EVE will probably be gone.

Thanks everyone!

Try this site http://eveapitools.com/audit/

Also EveMon does alot more then skills it shows mail, notifications, market, industry and standings if you use the Full version that they offer with the CAK key.

Allowing you to read any CAK key is not that simple. IF you dont have access set to the part you wish to look at then you can't access it, you can have more access then needed but not less.

Let me give an example not 100% true but making it simple

if you want to view kill logs and you request them from a CAK that has no access to them then you will receive an error from CCP's API server. If you do this enough you will be banned on the IP that is requesting the information from the API server.

However i could tick every box and all for FULL access with a CAK key and only want to view the kill logs and this shall not be an issue.

There are heaps and I mean heaps of applications around to allow you to view anything from standings to full list of assets for the CAK keys at the moment.

Have a look though this forum there are many people building applications to use to verify a character before you allow them into you corporation. You may have to use more then 1 site or application it happens.
