Mobile computers are more powerful today than the computers that originally ran eve 11 years ago. I don't see why DUST, and EvE couldn't function on tablets/phones. For controllers we have plenty of bluetooth options. I think CCP could really get more people into the game with a mobile option.

Have you tried running the current eve client on a computer that ran eve 11 years ago? How did that go?

they can optimize the client, and or use the old client.

Just because the technology allows us to do stupid things like what you are proposing doesn't mean we should.. Those that probably own EVE either have a comp / laptop already playing EVE or they are the other type that we don't want or need to be playing EVE because they are idiots..

I can barely contain all the info needed on a 30" monitor in this game. I think it would be a massive waste of time to try and make the game run on a 3" screen.

Yes but you're not considering the people who don't own eve who would download the free eve application & stimulate the economy by purchasing plex. The more money CCP makes, the more content they create.

eve runs ok on my dads surface pro 2. screen is a little small though...

but that does not matter when i plug in the hdmi to the 80 inch tv.

No, they can't. Otherwise we'd still have Premium and Classic floating around.

Also, CCP has enough on their hands with interface overhaul and design to start worrying about touchscreens. I really don't want functionality to be denied in new development because it couldn't fit on the radial menu, or for any develoment resources at all to be dedicated to platforms that would be undeniably inferior to use in many areas of the game.

Get a laptop.

You seem to have missed the point.. I dont' want fucktards taht just own Tablets to be trying to play EVE.. You want to play EVE be a normal human being and buy logical things like a laptop or desktop.. Tablets are for people with money to spend on useless **** cause its some new technology.. Not people that are all of a sudden going to be like oh I have a tablet I'm going to go out and play EVE today..

AFAIK unifex is the guy incharge of brining the eve universe to mobile gaming. whether that means a tonned down version of EVE or just a eve gate app... who knows...

but dont think for a second that ccp are not looking at mobile options for new eden.

Wait, so not only are you suggesting a tablet client, but you are also suggesting that it should be a F2P client that runs parallel to our P2P PC client? It's like 3 terrible ideas combined into one.
